Fail No. 1: You still need a MAFs even if you have a turbo, unless you switch to a standalone ECU and a MAP based system.
Fail No. 2: The whole benefit of a dry foam air filter like the one pictured above is the lack of oil. They will NOT get your MAFs dirty, they were designed as an alternative to oiled cotton filters like a K&N.
Fail No. 3: The problems of a dirty MAFs are so minimal that a bi yearly cleaning eliminates the problem entirely. The MAFs should be cleaned this often anyway, they get dirty regardless.
<< Has had an oiled K&N filter on a turbo engine with a MAFS for 4 years with absolutely no ill effects.
