Alright, I got the video uploaded and compressed. Somewhere, somehow, I lost audio. Some people may be glad, but others, like myself, will long for the musical sounds of steel scraping and tires screaming in agony. Well, I compressed the video down from 28mb to something like 4.4mb with no real loss in quality, thanks to a free trial of Ashampoo Movie Shrink and Burn2.
First, a recount of the afternoon's events... We drove around Richmond searching for the perfect place, and we found a mostly abandoned mall. Cloverleaf, for those familiar with the area. So we drove around to the side parking lot which is about 90% hidden from view from the road. Well, the only problem is there's a Pontiac Sunfire driving around back there. So we stopped and got the lunch trays, steel sheets, and contact cement out of the trunk. We adhered the trays to the steel sheets and folded the ends of the sheets up over the trays so they dont slide out. (Basically useless unless you can do all 4 sides like that) But anyway, so we're standing on the lunch trays to "apply pressure" and the sunfire drives right by us and its a mother and daughter doing home drivers ed classes, and theyre looking at us like we're crazy just because we're two guys in the middle of an abandoned mall parking lot randomly standing on lunch trays having a conversation. Go figure.
Well, we decided that we probably shouldnt do it there, because they didn't seem to be leaving anytime soon, so we drove around to the back, which is totally hidden and even bigger and more open. The perfect spot. We gave it one test run with the trays under the tires and it worked like a charm. The only problem was that the trays were already ruined. We made them last a little longer and managed to capture 1 minute of video before the trays were just obliterated. They're not even shredded, they're just melted from the heat from the metal sheets.
After we destroyed our working materials, we decided to just have fun in the parking lot, so we practiced drifting, donuts, etc. which we didnt get on tape cuz we both wanted to be in the car. So oh well. i will definately try to get out there and do this again with some stronger metal and make a more presentable video.
What we've all been waiting for...

btw, i decided to not use the intro i had because the video is so short. maybe on the next one.
-------------------------------------EDIT - I compressed the video using standard windows media format instead of Xvid, because it was too much of a hassle for a lot of people. A little lower quality, but more convenient.
