hahahahaaha f*** no. it's an article about spending 1.25 mil on some rope strung between some trees to reduce squirrel homicide. that's the dumbest thing i've ever heard, so the article doesn't deserve my full attention.

That was exactly what I was thinking. If squirrels can cross phone pole to phone pole on a wire, I'm pretty sure they really only need one rope per bridge. Ridiculous.

You people complaining about spending money to save a species from extinction -- well you just remember this when you're staring up at the vast yellow underbelly of a Vogon Destructor Fleet ship.

Don't panic, bishes.

That's sounds about right. The one country where the RODENTS get bridges for free and the homeless HUMANS are harassed.

In the Florida Keys they have this endangered animal called the Key Deer. They live on only two or three of the keys, and they reduce the speed limit going through the area to 30 mph at night and 40 during the day. How the hell do they not build bridges for the deer?

In Virginia you have to call the game warden to do this, and that is just for reg deer.

No way. They stole that from The West Wing. If memory serves, there were two episodes where the White House opened its doors for crazy people to propose things that the government should do.

One was a group of animal rights activists, who wanted to build a wolf highway from Canada to Mexico.

"How do we get the wolves to use the highway?"
"We're still working out some things."

well since it's already in the go-ahead stage, they should be forced to pay tolls to use the bridge.

Around here they cross the street on power lines or play dodge-car where there are no lines. Just string some damn lines between trees and call it a day.

but that's not acceptable. they need to be enclosed so that birds of prey can't pick them off while they're on the line. they're going to have to wait until the squirrels are off the bridge. and they need motion activated, solar powered cameras, with night vision, to record every single movement on that bridge. satellite integration is needed so that actual people can monitor the bridge activities while we are going through our night hours. we need infrastructure, lots of planning, and in the end, it'll end up over budget.

that would be pretty cool, except that it'd be for a few tree rats, not some high security application.
