That is the best advice you're going to get. With $500, focus on the suspension. If your car has 150k+ miles, which most early 90's cars do, it's about time to take care of the suspension anyway.

I'd suggest some KYB AGX's. They are a very tuneable shock, considering what you pay for them.

it just takes a little bit of engineering (ie rollbar) to stiffen her right back up. The stock verts have plenty of stiffness, I just don't like the way it creaks and moans at times

yea, verts arent the fastest of 240's, plus the top adds some weight and im not sure on balance, but if he wants to have a performance orientd 240, getting a diff car is waht i think the better way to go, unless they make hard tops for 240's...... that's probobly weight less the the stock roof...

ya, i've done alot of research, haha, such as reading all these replys, and i am gonna go w/ the kyb agx's for now. when i find out the damn spring rate for the convertible, i'll do springs then, and at the rate thats goin, i'll have money for lots of other stuff. oh, and by the way are strut tower bars worth it? thanks.

get strut tower bars and a set of whiteline adjustable swaybars. best bang for the buck, you will feel an immediate difference.

well boys, since a 2 week search has led me to beleive there are no lowering springs for a convertible, would it just be wise for me to save some more money and go w/ a good coilover setup? im assuming installation would be the same. any suggestions as to a good setup would also b appreciated.

wrong... go pick up any year convertible supplimental FSM (thin book that came with the 240sx FSM that is just for verts) and there is no mention of a manual transmission. Or take my word for it because I already have spent time looking through them at work :)

I've seen many 5 speed verts. Any spring that fits a coupe or hatch will fit a vert.
