My ex b/f told me that he would trade me his '92 Honda CRX for my '71 Impala. I talked to my dad about it and he said that he would do it, but he wants my ex to drive it for a couple days just to make sure he likes it first. I guess because it's an old car and it needs a little more tlc than his CRX does. Anyways I was just wondering what y'all would do.

Yeah he gets great gas mileage. And you're right I'm gonna get that 240 running. The CRX would just be my temporary car.

yeah, i second a restortation. thats uber pimp right there. my dads cousin still has his orig 65 impala SS...it needs a good amount of TLC, but it still has almost everything orig. including the 327. also, they have a buick electra 225 in their garage/barn. it needs love too, but damn, restroed its like a $30-35K car.

I love the Impala, but I have a 30 to 45 minute drive to work everyday. It's got a 350 2-barrel (sp?) in it. That's way too much gas money right there for me. If this whole thing with my ex doesn't go through then we are selling the Impala if anyone is interested. I'll take pics.

I love Impala's, but I would say go with the CRX. Sell the Impala to someone that has the time and money to take care of it, and doesn't have to commute in it.

In the age of $2+ per gallon gas, I'd lean toward a nimble gas efficient and reliable CRX over a large, gas guzzling, ill handling 34 yr old bench seated 3 speed automatic land barge, just because it's in vogue at the moment.

I want pics of both vehicles in question. Is your ex a ricer? (Does he constantly race fellow ricers and have "mods" such as intake and neon lights? How's the body and engine condition of the Impala? I can't picture a '71 Impala so any help would be much appreciated. )

Even if the crx was riced, its not too hard to de-rice it.

Its still a good car, I'd take it over my 3000GT any day. (More practical for this broke azz college student)

I can't find any pics of the Impala so I will have to take some when i get time. It may be a few days cuz I work alot. He has intake, 9.9 mm spark plug wires, exhaust.. just stuff like that.

CRX all the way. If there wasnt a worry for gas $$$, Id probably have to go with the Impala.

Im thinking that with an Impala, you could check out the collectors market, sell it, and get more money for it than a CRX is worth.

Then go get a CRX or whatever you want. Its just more hassle this way.

The CRX is in great condition. It's only had 2 owners; he is the 3rd.

Yeah I'm thinking that I'm gonna take the CRX (as long as he will trade me). He's STILL thinking about it.

with gas being $1.95 here.... it would take like $60 to fill up the Impala. And that gas would only last like 4 days.
