Since my schedule has been so insane these past few weeks, I really haven't had much time to think about what I want to test-drive next. However, the holiday season is coming up and (around here) that is the best time to go for a test drive. What do you guys think? All semi-serious suggestions will be considered. FWIW, I have already asked and the answer to the GT-R is No. So anything else is pretty much up for grabs. Nissan's line-up hasn't changed much for 2012 so please don't hesitate to pick something outside of the family. Toyota, Hyundai, Ford, Audi, etc. The door is wide open. If you want a review about something new that is out, I don't care what it is. If I can find a dealer who is interested in a little free publicity, I'll go drive it and write about it. The first four are my choices just because I want to go try them out for myself.

This poll is structured to where you can add your suggestion to the list. Feel free to vote for as many as you want. I'll start at the top and keep going until I run out of cooperative dealerships or time.

Thanks! :bigthumb:

I really like the idea of the Edge. I've always wanted to drive one. I hope I do once I start at Maroone Ford.

Personally I would like to hear your take on a Genesis Coupe. I see it as a direct competitor to the Z, one of Nissan's flagship models. Would be really cool to do a back to back test drive. See how the competition is stacking up.

OK, that was messed up. I added the Genesis Coupe to the List and it erased all the previous votes. :wtf2: Just vote again and I'll leave it alone and go by the posts.

If you haven't driven a Mustang GT (or if they have one, a BOSS) yet, I'd be really happy to hear your impressions.

I'd love to see a compare and contrast between the Edge and the Murano.

Have you looked a a BMW or A Mercedes? They aren't the sportiest cars out there, but they are pretty comfortable and nice to drive. You should be able to pick up a lease trade in (Certified Pre Owned) at a really nice price.

Bex, i'd like to hear your thoughts on a Sentra SE-R(Spec-V 6spd preferably). I've been trying to get my hands on one, but no one here locally keeps them in stock.

Aside from that, I voted for the Genesis.

You know Seth(Eikon) just leased a Hyundai Sonata right? He might be able to put a review together on that. I personally prefer the Optima though, because the Hyundai is a bit ugly from the front.

I still have a love for the Mustang, but it's way overdue for a re-vamp and I wouldn't waste my money on one. The look and power is awesome, but it doesn't have the suspension or drive-train to put it to good use. Even the Boss 302 is questionable.

The Camaro on the other hand is brilliant IMHO. I'd buy one with no question.

Having driven both, I'd put the Camaro at the bottom of the pile.
Either one has plenty of power to boot, but the SS just sucks something awful when it comes to handling. Granted, the exterior is hot, but the car handles like it looks, HUGE.
The Mustang GT is legitimately fast, has decent looks (though you're right, its becoming dated) but handles twice as well as the Camaro while providing a pretty comfortable ride. I also prefer the seats and interior to the Chevy. This upsets me because when the Camaro SS was discontinued in 2002, it wiped the floor with the Cobra Mustang...
But the Boss 302...The Boss is a totally different animal from the GT. Up on power, 7,500rpm limit, adjustable suspension & R-comps from the factory, and an unheard of warranty for a track ready car- sign me up!

All that coming from a (usually) GM guy.

I haven't driven a current gen Mustang yet, but I haven't heard good things about them. Both cars look good, but I prefer Chevrolet engines over Ford in current vehicles and that's coming from a Ford guy. Chevrolet V8s are awesome these days and even though Ford is catching up, i'm still not confident in what I see. Honestly, there isn't many current muscle cars I'd waste my money on anyways.

This guy would rather pay cash for something older and have money left over to mod it how I want. I'd jump all over a GTA Trans Am like yours Ray.

If I were laying down cash on anything new with lots of power right now though, it would either be a Camaro or a CTS-V. There's nothing hotter than a CTS-V IMHO.

Thanks for the input guys. It'll probably be next weekend before I can do the actual test drive but I'm gonna start shopping around to see which of the dealerships will play ball. I really detest the local Ford dealer so the Edge write-up might take a bit longer.

Ooooo. CTS-V wagon review!!!Or a coupe!

Chevy makes some bitchin' V8's. The LS variants are damned impressive with a ton of potential. The Ford engines are coming around, especially the Eco Boost turbo 6's.

I'm with you though, its hard to pull the trigger on an asset that'll depreciate so hard is tough. Buying vehicles at the bottom of their depreciation is typically my goal.

I'd like to hear what you think of the Sonata turbo. I've yet to hear from anyone whose opinion I trust on it. But I'm not THAT interested, because it's not a car I'd ever buy.

That's why I told you to add to it. Also, Mustangs suck, IMO.

Flex seats 7, Edge seats 5. I'll save my opinion on the Genesis until after I drive it. Kinda on the fence with that one at the moment.

I think Seth's wife just bought one. She knows her stuff, I'll see if I can get her to do a write-up on her experience. I'd like to drive one myself though, just to see.

What's sad is that there is nothing in the Nissan line-up that I am excited about driving. The ones I do like get horrible gas mileage and the ones I don't get decent mileage. READ "CV-T"!! The only thing that is appealing performance-wise is the M but they are priced so high, they are pretty much exclusive to the 1%-ers.

I am with you Bex, I drove a few different Nissan/Infiniti before my CTS-V and they all sucked.. Either overpriced for what they gave you, or not very nice (or both).

I'd really like to see you drive a BMW M1 and/or a 335.
