The alternate 5th gear is just the sr series 5th gear ratio. You would have quicker acceleration in 5th but with less top end compaired to the ka transmission.

Matt you would have to talk to B&M about different versions, I have never heard of two verisions.

I have been looking for a short shifter for awhile. I just received my Nismo mount set. With those mounts should the B&M be pretty quiet? It would also be nice but not important to have a shifter that is shorter in height. Is the B&M just shorter throw or also lower in height? I guess lower height is mostly for looks. You know, I saw the C's shifter in Non Fujita's s14 and was all "ooh, cool it's soooo stumpy!" Hehe

nismo doesnt make a short shifter. they have a "solid shifter" which all it does is tighten up the feel and doesnt shorten the throw. and about the B&M, the shift knob it comes with is really heavy, which makes a shifter feel better. i havent installed it yet, but i think its going to be very nice.

I have the NISMO shifter and I like it, the throws are hardly slightly shorter but not much, when I had both shifters out I was able to compare, But like rstol said all it really does is tighten up the shifting, but I like it.

Just found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33736 has two different colors, one from the site I assume and his actual picture. So any ideas?

Well i can tell you this, my stock SR throw is 5 inches, and with the OBX shifter its down to 4, thats just 2 inches each way, pretty damn close, and it feels oh so soild.
