Completely stock and untouched engine. I have MSD 50# injectors, JGY fuel rail, and awaiting a JWT ecu to up the boost to a solid 1 bar. And yes I know that is a lot on a stock bottom end, I don't care.

My times are listed above but my total cost was $3,200 in parts/labor. Well worth it.

Im just curious, but I noticed a lot of you guys are runnign a 50 trim w/.63 AR hot (i assume standard stage 3 wheel to).

I know this turbo is teh damn shizzle to cause i had one on my DSM. I kow its more efficient than 57 and 60 trims...

Im just curious how it does on a stock compression KA24DE.

What kind of boost threshold is there, full boost (what psi) RPM and boost response between shifts.

Hopefully some will have experience with other settups so you can compare. Thanks,

If you look on the top of the KA-T section there is a thread with compressor maps of various turbos (including the T3/T04E .50 trim) with various boost pressures already plotted out. I know this for sure because when I calculated this turbo's efficiency for myself I posted it up here along with an excel spreadsheet so you can plug in whatever you like.

As far as where to buy parts, there really isnt anything that's all that hard to find. Check out the sponsors here at nico, especially ka24de.com and heavy throttle. Besides that, places like summit and jegs are good for various fittings, pipes, etc etc etc. I got my turbo wastegate and IC as a package from cheapturbo.com.... You kinda gotta shop around but there are parts everywhere. Dont forget the buy sell trade section here as well! (Thats where I got all the items marked with a "U" for used).

Ok enough typing... good luck!

Yes but i did not ask about the compressors efficiency; i know how badass the 50trim is already...

I want to know REAL world results with the KA (which, no offense, you cant really answer unless you have a runnign one or have experience with another)...

Threshold, boost response, real world results of full boost/rpm and overall liking of this turbo. Thanks!

Well mine is a 57 trim which is less efficient or whatever. I don't really seem to notice because.....hey look, I get .6 bar of boost by 3200 RPM on a stock block/head with stock cams and a LOG manifold. Turbo runs like a champ. Around town drivability is great because pretty much in any gear I can start pulling boost with just a touch of the throttle.

the safc dose not have a specific timing adjustment function. but there has been some discussion about the safc in this thread: zerothread?id=106376

some information there about it. check the apexi site for information also.

btw, just a few more dollars and this drifting auto will be boosted
