Hey guys, just washing my face in the bathroom and it struck me; whats wrong with Intial D? Everyone seems to think its FnF for Drifting and crap and whenever a person brings up a discussion on drifting people start bringing up on how bad Initial D is and thats how they started. Well hey, thats what got me into it. I mean the whole concept is cool, now obviously just randomly trying to fly down a mountain at 100mph is stupid. But i mean the style of Initial D beats the crap out of street racing today. They setup radios and check mountain passes making sure its safe as hell, we dont even do that. Alright, well just curious on what your guys's opinions on this are. -Galen

There is nothing wrong with Initial D if you like drifting. As an a drama/action anime, it's horrible, almost as bad as Dragonball Z which consists of "I WILL GET YOU RARGG" *pucnch punch kick punch kick kick punch - 20 minutes later* "WOW. HE IS STRONG* (resume random fighting). Drifting in it is cool, nice to make believe thats how it actually works, but otherwise it's blah.

if you dont like anime to start, I wouldn't see most people liking initial D. i love it, although it doesn't mean I'm gonna stick some lame initial D quiz thing in my sig. that stuff annoys the hell out of me. keep your sig simple make sure it doesn't take up half a page.

Some of the technical accuracy in Initial D might surprise you...albeit some things are exaggerated...

Yeah, how can p.o.s. like AE86 can beat FD RX-7. Yeah yeah yeah AE86 blah blah blah, but come on guys ask any Japanese about initial D beacuse they'll say it's a kids anime... So, you still believes in Superman.

Also, One_Beer, you're an idiot. First of all, the ae86 isn't a p.o.s. Also, you make it seem as though its impossible for the 86 to beat an FD. Why, just because the FD looks better, has more power? Haven't you realized yet that on the windy road, where driver skill comes into play, power is nowhere near as important handling and driver ability? kthx.

^ the FD would RAPE an ae86 in absolutely any kind of racing you can imagine.

the ae86 is VERY VERY underpowered, and difficult to drift unless you totally redo the suspension. its not gods gift to the automotive world, like alot of people think.

i like initial d.. its entertaining. we used to watch it at work :Dbut its just that, entertainment. its a cartoon, not a source of insperation or technical info.

initial d doesnt bother me.. its the wankers who try to be like initial d that bother me.. or the tools that think the ae86 is the best car evAr.

id take a s13 over a ae86 any day... it has 43 more hp, over 50ft/lbs more torque, and handling is similar... little heavier, but its a better car overall.

the people who are serious about ae86's are all autox'er anyhow..

This is probably the wrong response but i just feel like stating my opinion. Well first off, yea id never by a hachi roku. But im actually learning drift techniqes from the movie. now thats where the flaming's gonna come in. But i mean watching the car move helps me visualize what i need to do to get my car like that, etc. It basically got my hooked. I think its pretty good.-Galen

P.S. yea my own sig bothers me 2. I just someones intiial d quiz, was bored, took it. then had a moment of inspiration, and posted it in all my sigs on most of my forums..now im too lazy to take it off. But once i get my digi cam to work itll be a pic(a lot smaller) of my car at sunrise/sunset. My apologies ahead.-Galen(again)

A FD will not ALWAYS rape a 86. Sure the spec and everything say it should, but the specs also say a GT-R would rape a 86 but I seen a video of a GT-R getting raped through the turns. R34, you can download it off kazaa.

And Initial D is awesome, I like it!

all you "FD will rape any 86" people are straight cracked out how many FD's do you see profesionaly drifting......... not many there is a reason for that. Now how many 86's are profesionally drifting a hell of a lot more becuase yes they are great drifting cars, unless almost perfect 50-50 wieght distribution isn't good for drifting. Also i'm not saying the there are no FD drifters so don't everyone start naming people cause i could name 4x as many 86 drifters. thanks

also for tomsmr2 you may have to redo the suspension, but it would be alot cheaper to buy and redo the suspension of an 86 then it would be to buy an FD

ugh.

the FD is by FAR the superior car. it will win in a road course, drag strip, autox.. anything. its a better car.

as for the ghey video of the ae beating a gtr.. good for you. go look at the video of the civic beating the viper. same idea. with deep pockets you can make a geo metro outrun a mclaren.

and drift sx.. the FD rx7 is balanced better than a ae86.

how many "modded" hondas do you see compared to real cars? theres ALOT more hondas.. not because they're better cars, its because thats whats popular. same reason people use so many ae86's in drifting.. its what people wanna see. its become popular.

um, i have three things

1) its fun to watch2) its a show so technical stuff doesn't matter, but the ae86 was real tuned, not stock, so....maybe it could beat and FD3) Enjoy my sig!

Umm. Tom get your head out your ***. Gay vid of 86 beating a GT-R it goes to show its not always the car that determines the winner, it is the DRIVER, especially on a road coarse. Road coarses determine better drivers. Sure $$ is always a factor but come on you said a FD could beat a 86, so iam assuming your saying a 16 beginning driver in a FD could beat a pro driver in a 86:rolleyes

Alots the driver, sure the paper shows that the rx7 should be a 86, but that usually doesnt include driver and driver error.

Being a smart-a$$ is a good way to lose your sig AND the ability to add a new one.

Galen - Take a break from being lazy if you would and pull the sig. Thanks brotha!

iVE PERSONALLLY SEEN MANY A PEOPLE IN fd, fc CARS GET TAKEN BY AE86S, rx7 are 50-50 which really isnt the best for drifting or autoX, 240s are about 55-45 i think, the hachi is a well balanced light weight car that can recieve enough horse power to beat most things around most tracks(excluding F1 cars and stuff) but anFD is an over priced car that would take alot of money to put it up with a hachi all the fixed up for drifting, and the hachi would cost at least half as much. Ive seen it in equal driver skill before, and 86s pull a cleaner drift and keep a consistant speed instead of slowing down as much as a 300+ HP FD. And as far as my pocketbook and i are concerned id rather total an 86.

I hope you realize how much of a dumbass you just made yourself look like for saying this. Have you realized yet how many ae86's there are drifting completely stock out there. Redo the suspension? visit http://club4ag.com sometime so that they can completely rape all of your comments.

Wow, nice ignorant statement there. Yeah, you're right. Anyone who loves their ae86 must be an autox-er, how stupid of me to think otherwise. I hate people like you.
