What's the fastest anyone has gotten their Versa/Tiida up too?? I got my '95 Sentra up to 140 one night and I also got my '93 240sx up to 140 also along the same stretch of road. I sadly no longer have both cars.

Is there any tuning software that blocks the governor??? I hate that damn thing.

Well seeing as how I don't race in my Versa, I've gone 120km/h on the highway. I do not wish to go faster and get pulled over.

I went 90mph unintentionally believe it or not. I was on the interstate and the old people in front of me decide they want to hit their brakes while going 75mph they slowed all the way down to around 45 then started to speed up again. They were all the way over in the right lane too so wasn't like the were looking for an exit! lol Out of frustration and not wanting to become a sandwich if I got hit in the rear I overtook and put my foot down. Next thing I look down and am going 90mph lol Time to slow down or get a heafty ticket.

My Versa is not for racing if it were I'd take it to a race track. It's no fun turning yourself or other people on the road into a skid mark just to show how fast your car can go! These wee cars were made to go from A to B in decent comfort, which mine does very well.

A young guy here locally hit 122 mph on a race track. Said he'd never do it again.

Lol.. not sure how fast a versa could realistically go, but my bf used to get his 240 well over 160 :]

Now that I think about it.. any car can easily push 110-120 if you're not scared of tickets. I used to drive my POS Jetta like 100-105MPH on a regular basis until I got 2 rediculous tickets costing over $1k and now for my one Versa I pay $2800 a year in insurance. That's with the cheapest of the cheapest of rates. AAA quoted me $4200 :O !!! Anyways.. I got off topic. That being said, I'm sure my versa could definitely push faster. I'm just scared of more tickets =/

Only 100 mph here, but it was done unintentionally. Going with 80-85 mph traffic and by the time I knew, I was doing at around 100 mph with a few other cars in the fast lane.

If you like to race, you do not need to be owning an Xterra or Versa. The Versa is really not meant for that, and testing the waters to see how fast it can go will be stupid, especially if you end up wrecking it.

eesh- That's alot! I'd cry if that happened. At least you learned and now save your money for better things =]

Best way to test it would be to go to the track. There is one in Portland Oregon near me. I haven't gone and probably won't just because I don't want people to think that I am some badass trying to race my Versa against their little rattle can Civics.

On another note.. I was going 97 on the freeway in Washington.. I was the only car on the road at 3am after going to see Motley Crue, I wasn't even aware I was going that fast till he told me. At least I could pay them $200 to keep it off my record! lol

That's why I insist on buying my cars with cruise control on them. And use it religiously on the open highway.

I'm not trying to race a 2010 Camaro SS that's for sure!!! But I love motorsports, even Nascar is good now since Toyota is racing!!! I do race other 4x4's though offroad with my xterra. I even raced a 750 Yamaha Gsx-r. He beat me on the straight away, but at the 90 degree turn I went 80 down a steep embankment off of the freeway and beat him too the otherside of another freeway by thern I had the xterra governed out at 95!!! Oh what fun!!! Here in Iowa, if it's 3 am. you can almost do anything you want on the freeway. No cops!!!

I'm pretty sure there's a governor which keeps the V from going faster than 120. I remember it used to come up alot in conversation.

I routinely drive the highway at 80 in the Camel, on my trip to Seattle I got it to 120 (down a huge hill) through Montana and it didn't seem like it would go any faster. I've never tried to push the Camel that hard on flat or uphill surfaces, but it's not hard to push a boulder down a hill so it wasn't too much strain on the Camel. I will say that on very rare occasions, I had no trouble getting it to 90+ flat highway driving...

I surely wouldn't do it again.

mash the pedal to the ground long enough and youll hit 125. i know, it confused the hell out of me too when it happend cuz i thought the car maxed out at 120. i heard a story someone got it up to 130 on an airstrip... but never saw proof of that. i got 125, but it took a long time after it hit 120

I've only gotten up to just above 80mph. Try to not hit 80 at all though because we have a Super Speeder Law here. $250 added on to the speeding ticket if you're going 80mph or faster. Ticket prices keep us from paying local taxes though.

65 mph.
Adhere to the speed limits. Local cops are going bazooka on your a** if they catch you. You can get a ticket here for not signaling on a turn to wait only 2.5 seconds at a stop sign instead of the required 3.

Yesterday I talked to the guy who hit the 122 on a local track. He picks up his kid at my crosswalk. Now he's really unhappy with his 2008 Versa because he just finished putting in a new engine and transmission and the car doesn't run very well.

I asked him, "What did you expect when you hammer a small car like that?"

He just sighed and and nodded his head.
