you should have invited him here. I'd like to know what he did with the car to run on the track.

PromiseLand- He said nothing really special. It was one of those sessions that some tracks have from time to time to allow people to pay a fee and run there instead of speeding and racing on the street. Sign the waivers and run a few laps.

I think some drag strips do the same thing.

I've had mine up around 160 kmh (100 mph) a few times and that was just keeping up with the traffic on the Deerfoot Trail here in Calgary. Finally the cops are trying to get people to slow down. I used to race my '68 chevelle in NS years ago and I would say the versa actually handles about the same as it did with bias ply tires and no sway bars back then. BUT gas mileage kinda drops at that speed lol.

I got my 07 SL sedan with no mods to 120 on an empty, long, lonely stretch of unmentionable Arizona highway. Btw, the cruise control only works up to 90, after that, your on your own. The car burns gas fast at those speeds, and the car begins to not feel stable at speeds over 100. The light weight and the winds on that road makes the car feel...unsafe. The fastest ive ever gone was 125 in a 89 mustang 5.0

Jack

His 240 was completely raced out & gutted too. Inside had no door panels, no backseats, I'm pretty sure it didn't even have a passenger seat. He dumped $10k into it. Ridiculous HP, torque, etc. So.. his speedometer didn't really matter much lol.

In other news, I'd also like to see a Versa on the track that's had some mods to it :) I go to the local tracks a lot, but I have yet to see a Versa =/

Lol, I've never had a problem pegging the needle on my speedometer(in my old s13's) upside down at 6 0'clock and my car was still accelerating in 115+ degree weather here in the inland desert. 240sx's are like DSM's...easy to make fast.

06 Toyota Avalon touring-125 mph
08 Can-Am Spyder RS-120mph
96 Mercedes E 300 diesel-105mph
Got caught going 99 in a 65(good thing i started to slow down at 108 when i seen the cop)

With no mods, my Automatic 2008 1.8s Versa hit 112. Like others on here, I don't recommend hitting that speed on a regular basis. I just wanted to top it out after getting it from the dealer.

I got mine up to 160km/h (100mph) on a very empty stretch of very rural highway one sunday morning at 3:30am. I had a long boring drive and finally talked myself into seeing if my car would actually go as fast as its speedometer goes up to. I got to 160km/h and decided I was a dumbass so I backed off and went on my way.

Fastest I've ever been (in a street legal car) is 290 km/h (180mph) in a Porsche Carrera GT.

I saw the thread title and thought, "I had to wait three days for my first one to be brought in, but I got the second one the day I went to the dealer!"

Nevermind the cops, what if another car was broke down on the other side of the curve? Keep it on the track...

eeshazor wrote:Now that I think about it.. any car can easily push 110-120 if you're not scared of tickets. I used to drive my POS Jetta like 100-105MPH on a regular basis until I got 2 rediculous tickets costing over $1k and now for my one Versa I pay $2800 a year in insurance. That's with the cheapest of the cheapest of rates. AAA quoted me $4200 :O !!! Anyways.. I got off topic. That being said, I'm sure my versa could definitely push faster. I'm just scared of more tickets =/
Thank you for convincing me that excessive speeding ticket fines should be painful and as large as reasonably possible.

You're ridiculous.

I've been up to around 90MPH in my Versa. There's stretches of highway in Oklahoma where the speed limit is 75MPH, but people routinely drive 80-90MPH on it, so it's just a matter of keeping up with traffic. However, I normally try to go about 82MPH on those parts, because 90MPH feels a little too fast. There's no way I would go faster in a Versa unless I had some serious handling mods done.

The fastest I've been is 130MPH in a 1994 Saturn SL, which is ironically the slowest car I've owned. It had a little 1.4L 90HP engine.

The fastest car I've owned is a 2001 Buick Regal, which had a 3.8L V6 200HP. Unfortunately it cut off engine power if you hit 110MPH, which I found out on some empty back-highways out in rural Oklahoma. I'm sure it could have hovered out around 140MPH and still felt smooth.
