Ran Mobil1 15W-50 for years with no issues.

Ran Royal Purple 10W-40 and spun a bearing 3 days later.

royal purple has a "dont used on FI engines" or something to that effect on the bottle.

I didnt take it seriously, but after doing some research well the motor is in pieces apparently the "choke" or something properties are not optimal for FI.

idk Im just a girl and didnt fully comprehend ALL of it.... we never had a problem running it in the BB chevys.......

I will be putting fresh 10W-40 mobil 1 synthetic when I finally button everything up.

had great luck with Mobil 1 for 2 years running

You are one hurt puppy . Whale semen "Tim"? I guess you have an awesome, gushing release from your tail pipes between gearshifts, huh? (lay off it, man).

Castrol GTX 10W-30 most of the time

Last oil change, I tried SuperTech 10W-30 full synthetic. It's the Walmart brand, lol. $17.50 a gallon. Engine runs smoother than conventional and seems happy. But any syn should do that.

I have a "buy it cheap, change it frequent" philosophy when it comes to oil though..

lucas oil stabalizer is very good product except it cause more airation to the oil when it involve gears... think oil pump mostly.. bob the oil guy did a test and it started so promissing then he turn the speed up and it airated so much more than just pure oil .. so i wont use it on a car im run the piss out of for fear of insuficient oil pressure due to airation at the pump.

Castrol syntec blend 20w-50. Any conventional will suffice as long as you change it according your abuse and temperatures in your place of residence. But convetional oils aren't that cheap anymore, so it might be best to get a brand name oil. However, if your car is running stupid rich, you're wasting money and killing your engine.

What do you call an SR at 9k?,,,,,A tow truck.

As far as assembly lube I think any good builder lubes it with his own blood! So many cuts

Its a precise mixture of blood, oil, grit, and hydrocarbons that make the cut sting like crazy.

I'll take that over brake fluid in the eye, that ish BURNS!

We had a Skyline up on the lift doing a 5-speed swap and my freind asked where the bleeder was. I looked up to point it out and one drop of DOT3 dripped out right into my eye. Yikes that was terrible, popeye fumbles his way to the eye wash to rinse that stuff out, my eye was messed up for hours.

I've always ran Redline, Mobil 1, and Amsoil 10-30 in the winter and 15 or 20-50 in the summer. No complaints about any of em. I'm currently running Mobil though since I got a few cases of it for free

Brake fluid in the eye is the worst!! I had that happen to me too, when I was working on this lifted jeep. It burned so bad I thought some cheap hooker had given me VD... in my eye!

In my rotary I use 10-40 dyno oil. You cna't use synthetics in a rotary unless you want to gunk up your engine, or carbon lock in down the road ;P

in my ca18 I used 5-40 synthetic from penzoil.

my friend works at a midas shop so i get stuff cheaps.

I never had a problem

I spun a bearing on regular 10-30 but i was a little lower on oil + beating her so a combination of both, oil not responsible

I'm surprised by all the people throwing bearing on royal purple.. I heard it was decent stuff, but maybe not so much for the ca18.

I ran Redline 15W-50 once and it was the first time an oil change made a noticible change in engine response and feel. Courtesy Nissan had a clearance so when I was there picking up parts I bought all they had left in stock.

Before I added an external oil cooler, 3.3q as per the FSM. After the oil cooler install, 4.5q.

Standard CA with no massive external oil coler, dump all 4 quarts in.
