We pulled my motor out of the clip today, man what a biatch! That transmission is a monster. Well any way we are in the process of cleaning and changing hoses and rubber lines now. Should start detailing and painting tomorrow. This thing needs to be sitting in the car by next weekend so like the title topic says, what mounts did you use? I talked to shaw at mckinney motorsports just a couple of minutes ago and he said they were in stock ready to ship. Has anyone used these mounts? They also have the down pipe that is suppose to work, has anyone used it?? We actually started the motor in the clip and let it run for a while ( up to operating temp) and everything is perfect.. The wiring is just as simple as the 20 or 25 into the s14. I willpost pics and let you guy know how it goes. Thanks in advance for any help

as far as i know, mckinney makes the best mounts for either rb25 or rb26, and i think they did the 1's for the rb26 so you can fit the TT's. to my guess the down pipe should work 2. tho those are usually custom made at some muffler shop.

i wanted to buy those mounts but it was cheaper for me to convert to right hand drive and use a r32 rb20 crossmember. will be test fitting the motor in afew days but it should go right in with no issues

I'll be using Mckinneys mount kit for mine. Should be ready to drop in about 5 months.

Will you do a write up when you do the wiring? I'd like to start looking into how to wire this up in my car. Not alot of info on the 26 swap..

Gani:

Please post how it goes.

I too have converted to RHD, and have an RB25 R34 crossmember sitting here. It would sure beat buying mounts when they're not needed.

if you ever swapped an rb20 or rb25 same stuff i will be involved in mounting your rb26 since you wont have steering clearace issues so everything becomes ten times easier. i find it easier putting it in from the bottom meaning you will bolt up your r32 or r33 crossmember to the engine mounts then lift it. About your r34 rb25 crossmember im nor sure if it will bolt up like all the other crossmembers coz i have never used one but you can take your stock crossmember and see if the bolt holes line up if not look for an r32 or r33 crossmember.

just my 2 psi

The R34 RB25 crossmember and mounts line up no problem. In fact, before purchasing the crossmember, I laid an R33 RB25 crossmember next to it, and they were identical. I think this will be the way that I go.

Thanx.

Has anyone use the a31 cefiro or c33 laurel crossmember and mounts? I'm sure you've all heard that they supposedly drop the motor an inch. I saw pictures of the swaybar off one of these cars compared to an s13 swaybar. It shows that the c33 swaybar goes an inch lower.

ok got to test fit the motor and id say dont use the stock rb26 motor mount brackets, makes the crossmember be off. anyways gonna try the rb20 stock motor mount brackets and give yall an update.

They won't put out any product that's half way there....

Me too, I have to much money in my clip and car to worry about saving a couple hundred dollars. I plan on beating on my car hard and i want products that are gonna hold up and are proven to be good quality.

We will be droping the motor in today, I will post pics tonight if everything goes well.

I wanna thank Mckinney Motorsports for being a professional business in a time where the internet is filled with crooks and theives claiming to have a business just because they have a web site. They answered the phone everytime I called during business hours and im sure if i emailed they would have responded quickly.

Intercooler and piping worked like a charm. I only wish the factory intercooler was in alittle better shape.

Oh yeah, i will be posting part numbers for the proper parts to make your driveshaft . A local company had all the parts on the shelf and completed it in about 2 hours, they even used 3" tube ( the same tube they use in alot of drag cars). They did this all for me for around 300.00 Im pretty sure just about any driveshaft shop can handle the job...

Did you polish the turbo pipe yourself?

looking good jay-man.. just cleaned my engine bay out and i took out the a/c lines and all that. all thats left is that charcoal canister but i didn't know if i was going to need it or not. i know it deals with emissions but after swapping motors, i wouldn't think so...? or so...? but i'd like to get in contact with you since i too am swapping into an s14 and i had some other questions about the driveshaft...

I hope it drives good, We are in the process of changing it to 5 lug, installing a s14 lsd and the skyline brakes.

A freind of mine did the polishing for me.
