Would you want to run a higher or lower W in the summer??? Would 5w20 be better in the summer or winter on a sr?

What oil actually came in and is recommended by factory to run in the car? I'm just curious, but I'll be running 10w-30 in mine.

The higher the weight in the winter will cause issues as it is already very viscous and the winter aspect will just add to that. Oh 10-30w.

Try living in MI for one winter.

During the winter time it easily goes below 0F numerous times. So during the winter times, I run 5W-30

During the summer time I run 10W-30

its a water cooled engine, so theoretically it should run the same temperature all year round. 5w30 all year round

switch to synthetic if you know your engine has low miles. it wont thin out as much as regular motor oil

i run 5w30 royal purple

10w30 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic all year. You shouldnt have to run thicker oil in the summer for a couple of reasons. One, the thicker oil wont get picked up properly. Could cause bad oil pressure and detroy the motor. Two, if you think your oil temps are too high then you should think about getting an Oil Cooler. Send Enthalpy an Email sometime. He can explain everything in more detail.

I've been using Mobil 1 synthetic 0w50 all year long. Both for daily driving and on the track. No problems the past 2 years. I do change my oil religiously though. Whether it's -30 or +30 outside it works great. 75 psi under load at WOT and around 12.5 psi at idle after full warmup.

I'm about to give the Greddy Oil a try. Getting a case for pretty cheap, I think it's 5w-40.

I have been using 10w-30.
