I am making this to give a people a general idea of how much each can get.

I have a 91 with the KA 2.4L in it. i get around 280 per tank. about 23 mpg. My motor has 193k miles on it and runs on synthetic. Seems to do good.

I could probably go lower huh? I have only owned it a week, tryin to get general concensus on this stuff.

It's at 150 and a half a tank. I do a lot of freeway miles, and freeways in Vegas are 80+. I am running 10w30 sythetic.

Needs injectors I am thinking, need to take it apart this weekend I guess and look for sure. How will I know if they are bad? I think fuel is leaking into the cylinders and flooding it.

I do all freeway with my 240 now back and forth to school. Usually I fill up around the 420 mile mark on my trip which is around 28-30 mpg.

do your maintenance.my problem is the o2 sensor and the exhaust leak... might be same for you as well not a costly fix, but well worth it!

1997 - manual - 147k miles - KA24DE - Synthetic Blend - 89 octane I get about 26-28 mpg. I have been hitting 380-400 per 14 gallons or so.

When the car was auto I was getting around 21-25 mpg.

Be sure to change your air and fuel filters following general maintenance guidelines. And keep up with all of your other general maintenance stuff. It can make a HUGE difference. I let my cai get gunked up lets just say she is running MUCH better now that its clean.

if i used 255 (iirc) lph walbro pump, would it matter if i used stock injectors?i need to go ahead and replace alot of maintenance things..

Last time I checked I got 25.6 mpg. That was about 80/20 for highway/city driving.

It's a '91 manual running 93 octane.

280 on a full tank sure seems really low to me.

No offense, but I hate when people calculate their mileage this way. Unless you fill up your tank and then drive your car until it stops and can't move anymore, this is not going to be precise. Then there's also the fact that you shouldn't run your tank much under 1/4th full. There is a much better method. Fill up your tank, zero out your trip odometer. Next time you get gas, fill it up again. whatever your trip odometer says divided by how much gas was JUST put into your car is your gas mileage. Zero out your trip odometer and the cycle starts over again.

Once, again, I didn't mean to offend anyone. For some reason, this is just one of those small things that bother me more then they should.

Back on topic, I have been getting 24-26mpg during mostly highway driving. I think one of my o-rings may be leaking a bit. 1991 5 speed.

well, I know you KA diehards are not going to like hearing this but my S14-SR2DET powered S13 gets 30mpg and I know that for a fact. I know this because I had right around 1/4 of a tank... Put 11.2 gallons of gas in the car then I drove it 333.6 miles, by looking at the fuel gauge I guessed that it was at the exact same point it was before I filled up the last time (just to make things easy) so when i went to put gas in the car (at the same station and same pump) it only took 11.01 gallons of gas to fill it to the top, so if my calculations are correct (and please correct me if Im wrong) but my car gets 30.299727520435967302452316076294MPG. Which is 333.6 miles on 11.01 gallons of gas. Whoever said there is no replacement for displacement didnt care about gas prices

It's even less than that. I think my injector seals are shot but I really don't know. I don't want to just buy things when I don't need to. It runs nice and strong, but I feel a miss almost sometimes. It idles quiet and smooth. It wouldn't start a few times, flooded itself, but has been good for almost two weeks. Changed the spark plugs and they were black. It's running rich for some reason. Anyone had this problem before?

Thanks

I get about 24-26 mpg on any given tank of gas depending on where I'm going and how hard I'm driving. I'm usually shifting around 3000-4000 RPM while city driving, and cruise at about 3300 RPM on the highway.
