Are you guys still debating this....!!! :-)

Two years ago, buddy of mine bought a 2010 330i and kept bringing me down about how BMW is so good and worth it. Last year he sold it due to high maintenance and now he drives Prius.

I don't wanna stereotype but people that drive BMW's are usually story for itself. (most of them)

Thought I'd chime in with a little story of my own.
So my ex-neighbor took me to the dealership several times before I purchased my M. The day I went to go pick it up (and so all the waiting for it to finished being detailed), he wanted to test drive a brand new 2010 G37 coupe. Mind you, he had a 2000 328. He goes on the test drive and comes back saying "it's nice, but it's just not fast enough. I don't feel the power !!". After scratching my head for several minutes with the most confused look EVER.... I said ok n got into my new car and started to drive home. Fast forward a few months, and I call him to pick me up at the airport. Here he comes with a 2007 328x coupe (base model). Again, I shook my head. I simply Acknowledged his car n caulked it up to his admiration for that brand.
The twist to the story is that our friendship of over 20 years went south once he got in my car n started to see all the stuff my car had, which his didn't lol. 7" screen, Navigation, speakers everywhere, etc.... All his has, is an emblem. Guess he didn't like the fact that mine had so much more amenities than his did. Oh well !!!

Most BMW owners are just a lost cause. They have something going on in their heads I don't understand. Can't feel the power? Well the BMW's do torque up sooner than most. The Infiniti's need to get a few more RPM's to torque up. Sorry your friend can not appreciate cars. I think that little BMW emblem somehow makes them King s*** for brains. I wonder if your buddy even knows what that BMW emblem really means. If he does not he should not be allowed to drive one. My OP.

Lol oh please believe me, he is just stuck on the name. There is no way a 2000 328 can touch a G37. The 2000 328 gets 170HP n 181 @ 3500. The 2007 gets 230HP and 200 @ 2750. As compared to the g37 which gets 328HP and 269 @ 5200. There is no way that either of those cars can even stay close enough to see the tail lights of the G. He just didn't wanna spend in that car. And he couldn't be a man and say so !!! Oh well !!!

This go's on with the Corvette guy's also,I have a 1977 and all Vette owners will give each other "The Wave" when passing on the street, but when I wave at a newer Vette thay look at me like like I'm a nut.The guys who own the older Vettes respect the car and its history, and alot of guys who own the new ones are like these BMW guys, There just buying a name

I love the older Vettes, but I don't care much for the newer ones. Your post reminds me of when English Sports car drivers used to wave and so did all bike riders. Sad, another tradition gone!

can this thread get any longer? I think its funny reading all your comments! I also am a fair believer that BMW drivers are doucebags - but i wouldn't mind driving an M5 for a day - cause i wouldn't want to own one and keep up with maintenance that probably ends up to being a third of the car price within 5 years

I'll broadened the scope. Most owners of BMW, MB, and Audi do so (if their smart) under the coverage of a factory warranty plan. I know people that have owned these imports and reliability is not necessarily a cornerstone, Case in point, my brother buys a MB E500/E550 sport a few years back and everytime this car goes in for service it $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ thousands of dollars. He had a problem with the suspension and it cost $6,000 to fix. tune-ups forget it. He came up to the North Atlanta area last year were I live not ever seeing my black with bourbon interior M35x. He was amazed what you get for the money and the quality built in these cars. I'll finish with short story; I remember when I bought my M I lived in Connecticut and my neighbor had a MB E-class. I was excited with the purchase so I invited him over to check out the M35X. I could see he was impressed but do you think he'd give a positive comment. NO. He says " We'll what do think this is a MB:. I said NO. Infiniti's don't spend most of their time on the back of a flatbed!! :dblthumb:
