MUSICSURFMAN>>> don't stroke the RB20, de-stroke the RB25!! come on! that would be awesome, super short stroke with a super (relatively anyway) large bore, think of the RPM's!! then you should put that in a 240Z shell, which should be easy to find if your in AZ. i got one from a j/y down there for $400.

hey spec, if they dont have your clip, I'll kill em, lol. if you want a cheap super car, find an old 240 260 or 280Z and swap in a 280ZX turbo motor. easy and at stock boost your looking at roughly mid to high 13's. wanna hear something funny? know how I got that SAAb 900 turbo? well turns out that the #2 cylinder connecting rod broke completely, the piston is no longer connected to the crankshaft! time for a new motor.

i am just a sucker for the old S30'z, can ya tell?? lol

I WANT A 240Z OR EVEN A 280Z BUT IF I DID THAT I WOULD USE THEIR POWER HOUSE. AND I WANT STROKE THE 20 FOR MORE POWER AND IF I USE DIFFERENT CAMS I COULD RETAIN THE RPMS. I AM LOOKING TO SEE IF THE RB26 CAMS WORK, IF THATS THE CASE I'LL GET EVEN MORE RPMS WITH MY STROKED RB20.IF I COULD FIND A 240Z ROLLING CHASSIS FOR THAT CHEAP I'D CRAP MYSELF. THAT WOULD BECOME A RACE CAR AND KNOW ONE WOULD KNOW WHAT HIT THEM, BUT THEY ARE ON THE HEAVY SIDE UNLESS YOU GUT IT.

If you stroke it you'll loose some high rpm ability...the reason they rev so well is that the bore is larger than the stroke...if you stroke it then you remove some of that advantage.

UMM THE BORE IS BIGGER WITH THE RB26 PISTONS. IT IS STILL CLOSE TO THE ORIGINAL RATIO, PLUS THE CAMS WILL ALSO HELP WITH THAT.

a 240Z heavy?!?!? what are you on?!? thre are a few people on hybridz.org that have weighed in at 2400lbs with them in the car and a full tank of gas! roll cages and what not as well. the later 280z's got heavy, but still not as heavey as a 240sx. later Z's were around 2700lbs. you could lose about 150 of that by dropping the heavy *** federal bumpers and the AC that most of em had. the 280z's have a more robust unibody, and can take more abuse HP wise.

all you have to do is look around in the junkyards. thats where I found mine. went down to AZ specifically to find a 240Z in the salvage yards. cheapest on ei found was $400, most expensive was $800, again these were just shells with what was left of an interior and no motor or transmission.

YEAH NOW THEY ARE ALL GETTING SCRAPED. CALIFORNIA INDUSTRIES ARE BUYING OUT ALL THE JUNKYARDS. AND I WAS TALKING ABOUT HEAVY FOR THE MOTORS THAT ARE IN IT. WITH A RB MOTOR IN IT IT WOULD BE LIGHT AS A FEATHER.

Seriously...tomorrow is my LAST day. If it isn't here I am getting my money back. Which consequently leads to me selling my S13. I refuse to pay gobs of money to repair that KA. I'll probably look into a B14 Se-R, 93 Civic hatch, or a Z32. I don't care what brand car I go fast in. Honda, Nissan, FWD, RWD..who gives a ****. I feel like **** for *****ing at those fools on teh Night thread, but my situation is different, at least I have had contact with them...albeit not to my satisfaction.

sucks *** about weenus not geting their motors in. they said the 10th, correct? that leaves one more day. give them that, at least.

SPEC>>> how do you feel about your car being a guinea pig? there is a 1984 300zx turbo in one if the wrecking yards down here. v6 turbo 240sx? its calling you!!! those motors lay down 300rwhp without breaking a sweat.

that sucks to hear tht they are scrapping and crushing all the Z's, youd think that the people running the yards would have a brain and save some of the classic tin they have in them thar yards, oh well.

I have my 240Z, now all I need is a engine. wait a minute, I have a 280ZX turbo motor, what am I waiting for?!?! oh yeah! money. Anyone wanna buy a 1988 SAAB 900 turbo fully loaded with elite rims, tinted windows and a soon to be a 73K motor?

The older turbo motors don't layout that much power. The vg30dett is the one you want. granted it has been done but you'll be one of like 5 known people to do this. I want to get another 240 just to drop one in, depending on how insurance goes I might get another one.

I know the sohc motors aren't that much stock, but you can get 300rwhp out of them by geting a decent intercooler and just upping the boost. I beleive the factory boost settings are a paultry 5 psi. that ain't jack for that motor.
