nico used to be a really awesome place until all these people start forming one idea of what a car should look like and that anything besides performance is rice....when they themselves probably have a sh***y car. its starting to be like zilvia...at least 240 gen. that is.

i live in the south....so everyone and there 88year old grandma has a lifted, usless on the street truck that gets 8 gallons per mile, and it doesnt matter where im at, i will get compliments on how clean my car is from other import guys, a lot of subie drivers, evos, occasional boosted hondas, and of course the rice lot, but those ignorant truck driving rednecks that are so close minded that they cant figure out that an orthadontist and an ornathaloigist arent the same thing will forver call me a ricer only because i drive a japanese car, it really funny because ill be at a meet and there billy bob is talkin bout his small block chevy, i walk up, a ricer comment is made, then i tell him how he can decrease his 1/8 mile time by changing some mundane detail, then they all shut up

I have neon's in my 240 their dark blue and add a nice accent. they are tucked so you just see the light. If it's what you like cool, people will always have opinions. Thats what helps create diversity in the look of our cars.

Talk to anyone that drives domestic or European and is ignorant. They will tell you that Japanese cars are nothing more than crappy rice burners, aka rice. I've had people call my BRM dual tipped exhaust a ricey fart can, when that's the furthest from the truth.

Some people consider my Silvia front rice, although I did it partially for the looks and partially for the weight savings off of an already heavy car.

Rice is like pornography, can't describe it but you know it when you see it. Buy the way, neon's are not really my thing but I have to say it appears you did do a very good job on the install . I would also have to agree that most people who don't like import cars (no matter how tastefully done they are) will consider them rice aka a "rice burner. "

What A LOT of people do not realize is that most cars made within the last 15 years have a pretty large amount of mixed parts. So Mr.Mustang Big bad V8 man may hate Japanese cars and other various imports, but chances are there are a few things on his car made over seas or in Canada even Mexico.

I had a 1995 s14... It was white and it had blue neons underneath.

Firstly, my gorgeous girlfriend loved it... Many good times inside...

Secondly, it provided some mood lighting at parties outside...

Thirdly, Logan76 bought my car, with the neons installed. And he instantaneously removed them ensuring no one would see the "gayness".

Hahahaha... I enjoyed them though...

Fourthly, it was sweet to have little kids scream, "Wow mommy, look at those lights!" and have sexy chicks stare at me...

Do what you want. Its your car. Personally I think neons outside the car are flashy. Most people I see with neons outside there car dont know anything about cars and have no performance mods besides a muffler.
