On a 245 width tire, one series increment is about half an inch. I know from experience that you can feel the difference. My 225/45/17 felt different than 225/50/17 with the same brand and style of tires.Tampa G35 Sedan 6MT wrote:you
You can go with the 245 45 17 or even 245 50 17Look at the 245 45 17 general exclaim tires on the tirerack.com Had that same size on my lexus Is 300 and it was really nice. The car felt like it was glued to the ground
You will never feel the difference over the smaller tire... nor will it change your Mpg...
We are talking MM not Inches In hight difference!

When I had a G35X loaner 80 MPH was at 3250 RPM if I remember correctlyTampa G35 Sedan 6MT wrote:It revs that low at 80MPH
2800 RPMs ??? are you sure that is correct? DJ
Sorry to thread jack, but how was your is300? My dad is looking to buy a car, so I'm trying to be a positive influence. g35 or is300? he does not want a coupe or a 6-speed... and moreTampa G35 Sedan 6MT wrote:Had that same size on my lexus Is 300 and it was really nice. I have an '04 auto coupe with JWT/Ztube, GroundingGear, intake spacer, and axle-back exhaust, and love to shove my foot down on the long skinny pedal REALLY hard. I live about 11 miles from work, all city driving. I get a consistent 13/13.5 mpg. If I make one freeway trip of 40 or 50 miles per tankful, I get 18. On one three day trip up north, (Approximately 500 miles round trip), I got an average of 22.600hppot wrote:anyone with a few mods care to share their mpg?
I am with you on that... I was torn between the IS300, GS400, and the G35 coupe when I was looking. I nearly went with the Lexus just for the better tire and brake wear... but I am very happy with my G!! No regrets, but the IS300 is a really nice car.Tampa G35 Sedan 6MT wrote:Well the lexus was a better built car... I know guys but it is true lol. DJ
