Stroker kit typically increases displacement of a given engine by increasing the stroke length and reducing rod length. Some, accompanied by a larger piston, will increase the size of a motor quite a lot.

Honestly though, unless you are REALLY wanting to drop big coin and make a HUGE hp motor, stay away from them.

A Stroker kit is an aftermarket assembly that increases the displacement of a reciprocating engine by increasing the travel of the piston (that is, the piston moves further up and/or down in the cylinder). This is done by using a different crankshaft where the crank pin is moved further away from the center of the axis of rotation of the crankshaft. While this increases displacement and torque it can potentially lower the limit to which the motor can rev safely compared to the stock configuration.

check tomie, BC, toda, hks, and i believe greddy also makes one for the sr20det

My stroker kit has LONGER rods oddly enough.

Sometimes companies choose to adjust the placement of the wrist pin on the piston.

If you increase rod length alone, the piston would slam into the cylinder head.
