I know it's been a long time since I have been hanging out here, but what the heck happened to General Chat? There are posts on page one that are three days old. I remember a time when someone would post something at 8 am, and it would be on page two by lunchtime. Why are there so many mods creating threads in GC? This used to be one of the least moderated forums. Now 50% of the threads were started by mods. Wow, it sure has changed.

I don't mean this in a negative way. It's just an observation. It was just a little shocking to see.

Glad my fist pumping hulk handed Jersey Shore smiley still lives. :mike :mike :mike

Hey Matt, long time. How have you been? Still pounding the keys behind the scenes I see.

Damn, have you quit smoking yet?

FWIW I see increasingly more traditional GC material ending up on facebook.

Yes, I quit smoking 2 years ago next month

General Chat has slowed, but the contributors are getting more and more mature. Not many teenagers roaming around these here parts. It's nice to have a forum without riffraff.

I love the women in the lesbarus who sit in the left lane

I also find it strange that people will wait till they get the walk signal at an intersection to walk across the street when there are no cars in sight.

I really wish there was an easy fix to the slower traffic lately. It seems like everywhere has slowed down, but it's really weird to see Gen Chat be this slow. It just seems like less people are coming and hanging out for long periods of time - they're just getting the information they need and heading out :frown:

I was actually going to bring that up. The conversation reminded me a lot of the stuff that was posted regularly 2 years ago.

Unfortunately, it has gotten quite boring around here. I think NICO was at it's best around Carlisle 2010. Now there a few people who I don't particularly like who post too much, and a lot of the old crew doesn't visit nearly as much.

Hopefully NICO will rebound soon. :(

I think I can also agree with closing the Learned'd. It used to be a lot of fun but now there's just a small amount of average conversation... It also sucks up a lot of stuff that could be in it's own thread.

Yup Jesda/Razi, I pretty much felt the same way about much of the traffic going into the learneded-did thread. It's less interesting overall for so many of the topics going into there.

That's my .02

Glad to hear you finally quit. October 17, 2010 was my last taste of nicotine.

The C300 is sweet. It has a crapton of options, and a damn fine stereo. Harmon Kardon 640 watt, 12 speaker surround system. It's not nearly as fast as the Subie, but it sure is comfy to drive.

Wait, you were in Seattle, and didn't bother to look me up? :slap:

If you're still here, let me know. We'll have to get together for a beer or coffee...

I admit, I'm not around as much as I should be. I am taking 5 classes this semester and am a student instructor for a 6th, so my time is very limited. I've got a lot of cool stuff to write up, I just haven't gotten around to it. I have a couple of days with no homework, I'll try to get on it and get that stuff posted. I know a lot of us that compose the night crew in the Learned'd are in school -- me, Razi, and Chris, --- I think Danshaz is still taking clases too. Some nights, it's just not possible. Some of the regulars from when I first became a member are in different jobs and lost their internet access. Just a combination of things.

I get second hand nicotine now...sometimes. The wife still smokes. People think that must be hard to deal with and it actually does not bother me at all.
