Do one of the above options own gas stations / branches of say like:

BP, Super America, Holiday, Tom Thumb, Kwik Trip, PDQ, Amstar.

I know some gas stations are in some places and not others like I don't recognize half of those names, I live in Minnesota so that makes a difference. But still all thought some of those gas stations were national. Or am I just WAY off.

Shell claims their gasoline has nitrogen in it to help clean the engine better than other gas. This is what he saw and was referring to. I don't know much about this but to me I'm quite skeptical and just believe that this is a marketing strategy.

Also I can't even vote on where I usually buy gas because I tend to buy gas at Esso and Sunoco mostly, Petro-Canada and Shell the other times.

We have been using WaWa fuel and sometime Sunoco.

The WaWa stations are new, compared to the old antiquated Sunoco station even tho their tanks have been replaced. I am not jiggy with mixing or blending fuel at the hose when using Sunoco. I don`t think you get what you are paying for with them.

The WaWa stations vary so much in pricing that we go out of our way to the next town, approx 9 miles away and fuel up both Nissan`s there, it is currently 20+ cents cheaper, don`t know why...

have been getting great mileage on both nissan`s, 32+ mpg highway...

I found a Shell near me that has a sign advertizing "no ethanol", so I use it. The price is only 3 or 4 cents higher than the cheapo brands. I'm getting 32 mpg avg on my work commute, which is about 80 % hiway.

i read the new car owner manual (2008) and it specifically said NOT to use ethanol. It said the car was not designed to run on it and would damage your vehicle.

I did so once on accident, just wasn't paying attention, and my gas mileage plummeted! I will never do that again. I too now buy exclusively from Shell simply cuz it is close to me and i never have to worry about it having ethanol.

the info was the percentage of ethanol allowed or MTBE if applicable.

I have no choice, almost all stations here are labeled "may contain up to 10% ethanol" and my dealer didn`t advise me on it...

E85 isn't supposed to be used on Versas. It could potentially even damage your engine. E10 is what almost every gas station is. It's fine. Quit worrying. You can fill up an old 60s muscle car with it. There isn't even a gas station around here that offers ethanol free gasoline and I still get 28-30 city and up to 34 highway on a good day. If anything, newer cars might be designed around E10.

Oh and also not to mention, running anything higher than regular octane gasoline on an engine that only requires regular is proven to be a myth and a waste of money. In fact, in some cases, you'll notice a performance increase when you use regular as opposed to premium on an engine that only needs regular. I've experienced this first hand when I first started driving and didn't know much.

As far as brands? I've probably used every gas station we have around here and never experienced power loss or reduced mileage. I believe all gas stations have to meet a certain standard now as to the gas they use.

My Honda ran best on Chevron gas.

I have not tried to run Chevron for prolonged period of time on the Versa.

I was the same way until I tried Gulf gas. I used it years ago and had my gas line freeze up in the winter I thought maybe it was just a fluke and tried another station that sold gulf. This time my car started to lose power and die had to keep restarting it every few minutes. Did this until I put some gas from mobile in it.Since then I refuse to buy Gulf gas. Even if it is cheaper.I went to autozone about a year ago to get a code read on my wifes car. The first thing the guy at autozone asked me was if I got any gas from Gulf because they had a few people in there that week that got bad gas at gulf and it was setting off their engine lights. So I guess they still sell bad gas.I told the guy not me I learned my lesson a long time ago.

There is a LOT to concider when just 'get-in' gas.

The first is age of the station: if its been there for many years, you might be getting 'things' with your gas.

A simple test: next time you fillup, take a clean or new 1 gallon gas can with you. Fill it when you fill-up your car. Take it home and poor it into a clear container (NOT MILK JUG), seal it up, place it somewhere it will not be moved and wait. After a few days look at it. The stuff on the top is debre your car filter is collecting and the stuff at the bottom is water. And if it is totally clear, let me know so I can get gas there.

Second is timing: If you see the truck filling the stations tank, run on fume until the next day. When the tank are filled it will stir all the stuff in the bottom of the stations tanks. EVEN IT THE STATION IS NEW!!! Still wait. You don't know the condition of the delivery trucks. Also, water will condensate on any meter surface if the temp in right. When the tanks are opened ambient air enters the underground tanks. Over time and without a leak, water will collect in the inground tank. NEVER FILL UP WHEN THE STATION IS BEING FILLED!!!!!!!
