That was definitely a huge part of the game's atmosphere. I still remember the first time I encountered the Pinky demon. Because of that level's layout, you're near enough to hear it for a while. I wondered what it was, getting more and more nervous. Then I rounded a corner and OMFG WHAT IS THAT HOLY CRAP!!! there was a freaking pinky demon running right at me making horrible noises. Scared the unholy crap out of me.

The Original Legend of Legaia for the Sony PSX. Demo was freak'n awesome but alas, the retail game just didn't deliver.

Still has potential.

I'm a hardcore MGS fan but this new MGS 4 kinda turn down...First of all I'm so used the charecter movements from Gears of War so MGS 4 game physics wasn't too impressive.

Um where to start

Left 4 Dead, played the demo and was not even the least bit intrested. 2 shots and the guys are dead, no fun gunplay was a lil weak liked the fact that the super zombies took more than 2 shots but still not enough of them to make it intresting.

Gears 2. Hoard mode is awesome the first time you play through level 50 after that not so much. Multiplayer is ok vs mode like tdm is just a bad as the first ( know alot of people liked it but not ma cup of tea) if it takes more than one clip to kill a guy FAIL. Objective based maps were cool.

Haze...dont even know where to start on that one.

Spore

Battlefield 2

Those are the two I bought thinking they were gonna kick *** and they didn't. I usually put A LOT of research into a game before I buy it haha.

I gotta say that dead space is probably the worst game I have ever played. The game just feels like a giant ripp off of resident evil 4. The game iteslf was very boring and not scary at at all. The "Zero-g" part of the game is a pain the in the *** because even though you have to jump to the upside down floor, it wont let you unless you hit it EXACTLY where they wanted you too. IMO the biggest FAIL game in existance.

Definatly GTA4. To me it looks stunning and all, but i didn't enjoy the game. I got bored of it really quickly. To me the story line is too linear. I wish it were more of a sandbox like GTA:SA. Also i love MGS to death but i really was not into that game. I miss just being in one single location. Though i must say i did love playing the 4th chapter in Shadow Moses. Just hearing the music from MGS1 was enough to bring that huge grin to my face. Nothing will ever get me to change my opinion that MGS1 is the best game ever created.

First play through Spore was pretty cool. I spent loads of time designing every single thing I could and making crazy ****. Then I got to the end and was like WHAT?! THAT'S IT?!I tried to play through it again and couldn't stand it.My gf really likes it though...she thinks it's cute...Only game I've ever seen her play other than brick breaker on her cellphone.

The computer version of FarCry...Worst port ever. After playing it on my friends 360, I went home and down...I mean bought it, and sat down to a pile of suck. What happened to going prone and shooting up through the floorboards to kill the badguys in the first shack? There are more games from my SNES renting days I'm sure...but I can't recall them.Legend of Gaia was AWESOME.First RPG I ever played (other than Zelda) was Chrono Trigger...and that is still the high water mark for RPGS for me.

...There is no Bioshock 2...?And I liked Quake 4. It was EXACTLY what I expected and a lot of fun.

Another one that disappointed me was Metroid Fusion (Metroid 4). It took everything that made Metroid so great and stripped it away, then replaced it with dumbed down appeal-to-the-masses blandness. The story was terrible, too, and unfortunately it'll have a HUGE impact on any Metroid titles that follow it.The "Fusion Suit" is stupid. The "X-parasites" are stupid.Having strict linear objectives is stupid.

The only good thing Fusion did for Metroid was add wall-hanging, but that was put to use shortly after in Zero Mission, which was actually a good game

Bioshock 2!?

opinions are opinions but

If quake 3 was a 10... which it was, quake 4 was 6.5... and that consensus is wide spread.

you may have liked it, but it didnt satisfy the die hard fans of the franchise.

Not that I disagree with your first and last points, but I'm a pretty big Quake fan myself. I've owned all 3 singleplayer Quakes...even have the first two running on my dated pocket PC. I thought Quake 4 was a great return to the mindless Strogg killing of the first two games, and a much appreciated escape from the stupid multiplayer-onliness the series suffered from for too long. Honestly, I think the people disappointed by Q4 had expectations tainted by nostalgia of the first games. I could be wrong, though.

Kane and Lynch, the premise and story looked awesome but the controls sucked, the graphics were glitchy and the only fun level in the entire game was the prison level outside of that it sucked and don't get me started on the MP side of it.

Army of Two... come EA this was a massive let down from 100 miles of hype and build up

Mercenaries Two, so glad I got it as a gift and didn't buy this piece of crap, never even finished it because the game is just that bad... The took an awesome game with the first one and broke everything that worked in the first game.

GTAIV was good but it got boring, am looking forward to the DLC that comes out tommorrow.

There are a lot of games that I like and own that are sub standard at best and others that are good but after a while get too damned hard or unbearable to play. The SOF games are cool but the story and game play is just meh at best, but taking a dudes head or leg off with a shotty is just too good to deny.

COD5, sorry to say it but the solo campaign is just ungodly hard on veteran, and there are waaaaaaaay to many people on the MP side that are Prestiged to Nth power.

Far Cry 2 is a solid game, but it's broken and glitchy and seriously who wants to drive from destination to destination for 30 hours of game that should only take 12 hours for a dedicated player.

Brothers in Arms is a good game but stay away from the MP, it's definately not worth playing, the story mode is good but some of the weapons are flawed and difficult to get kills with.

I could go on but I don't want to eat up a full page of my opinions.... Long story short ANYTHING made by EA Games is a disappointment, they are more about the money and less about making a good game, hell the sports games even suck anymore.

I think you're right on the money...

In terms of expectations q4 was a lot like q2... but q3 expanded on the physics of the second game and made the movement top notch, it really conveyed a sense of speed and agility... Quake 3 ai were out to kill, Q4 ai... were there to entertain and guide the story.

to conclude... it lacked depth. and replayability, I played quake 3 for 10 years, somethign about it endured to me, and gave me a rush...

quake 4 didn't illicit that sensation, and though I played it through, after it was over... so was I.

so even though we have different feelings about the game, we each responded based our expectations when picking it up. you're completely right about that, and you can see that I was obsessed.

its hard to surpass Quake 3, the game was well made and unforgiving.

my #1 for suckage would be (GRID) man am i pissed i bought that when it came out..the handling of the cars sucked balls, was totally unrealistic..some parts were nice thou..like the garage and the replay feture..other than that..it blew cumwads..

my #2...(need for speed undercover)..it works ok with my logitech G25 wheel pedle combo..but seems the handling is f'd up and the pathing is way the heck off...im really disapointed in it...the storyline is cool and some of the missions...thats about it.

Believe it or not but I felt disappointed with COD5. I was expecting it to kill COD4. But I guess it is more of a preference thing.

Was also let down with GOW2, mainly because it seems that not much people play the game.
