mini van don : im pretty sure if you run a greddy i/t/mani and q45 tb you have to go with a bigger q45 mafs dont you, therefor you would NEED to be tuned for sure ?but if you stick a bigger d/p and exhaust on a turboed car even without tuning you are relieving backpressure on the turbo and should make at least 10-20 hp. you can do things like that because the stock ecu in the car can compensate for such things. now dont get me wrong i know that if i do get tuned i will make more power buy dialing the afr and timing . but adding exhaust and other little things isnt going to hurt performance at all, the car actually runs great i just want to be able to go a little faster when the need arises. also doesnt the megasquirt kit require assembly like soldering and such because i dont mess with eletronics i would just ruin it. and also i do run more boost then stock i have a boost controller set at 10psi all the time but again ive been told that the stock ecu has a boost sensor that adds more fuel under higher boost levels and compensates for the increase...... im no rb ecu expert like carlh so if im wrong please feel free to correct me but please save the flaming for someone else

you can upgrade your maf or you can tune it having your maf working at 100%. a local guy with a ka-t did that and has been running fine for almost 2 years.

adding a dp and exhaust should be fine, but a tune will go along way.

if you go with the ms, you can buy a pre-built or a 'diy' version to save a few bucks. if your not savvey, then get the pre-built version. also the ms system doesnt require a maf, so you can save more there compared to systems that require you to upgrade the maf.

if you go with the greddy intake/q45 tb ... your stock ecu cannot account for that increase in air. i just saw a week or 2 ago that a guy picked up 70whp with the greddy mani/q45 tb and a tune with a standalone. granted its not cheap but 70whp is impressive.

do what you can afford. there is no sense spending money if you are not going to see inital benefits from it OR its no good when you blew/broke your engine cause you didnt tune it.
