i have a 93 240sx red top. i just finished the swap and had some tapping issues, come to find out it was the timing chain guide. took the guide off and the tapping went away. its also hesitating on and off. i checked timing and it was on point. cleaned MAF checked all vacuum lines. let it sit over night and started it up the next day... she ran really smooth, and as soon as she warmed up it started hesitating again. can this be temp sensor???

no probably not the temp sensor..explain the hesitation..how bad is it and what rpms does it do it? could be fuel cut or possibly too much fuel or a certain sensor..a little more detail would help a lot

its a hesitation at 500 to 1000 rpm, if i put the cas all the way over clockwise, it seems like it gets better, i cant get the idle in its sweet spot. it almost feels like a fuel cut. im gunna check timing again and check all vacuum lines again.

500rpm to 1000rpm? your car shouldnt ever be at 500rpm..what does it idle at? 500 im assuming..do you have a timing gun? if so what is the timing..another thing to check on is the spark plug gap..I dont think its fuel cut since it only happens for 500rpms..by the way..a couple of buddies of mine who have sr's say that their engines dont run right at 15degrees btdc where as mine does and other peoples do..so you might want to take that into consideration and just keep messing with the cas like you were

alright so i checked the timing again to see if maybe i was trippin, and sure enough!!!! the damn cas was turned completely 180 out... or upside down if you will. so i flipped her over and started she up again, and NOW?? She runs like a champ, only thing is when i rev her up rapidly, there is a sharp whistle once in a while
