What you guys think of the possibility to switch the shift pattern on the automatic transmission sequential shifter? It is shift up when you push forward ans shift down when you pull by default. Doesn't it bother anyone else? I have to think about it when going fast, it really messes with my mind. The natural would be the opposite namely push forward when you're on the brakes and pull back under hard acceleration.
So what kind of switch is it under? I've never seen how it looks like under it, would anyone be able to post a picture of it? Thinking that if I could just replace the switches with each other? or turn the column around if that would work. Hope that it would be a simple fix, but would be so awesome.
Not that the transmission program is great, it shift up when i don't want to, even didn't allow it... Fffffffff

I'll bet you'll find what you're looking for in the FSM (which you can find here: www.infinitiservicemanual.com).
All automatics downshift to the rear, so I'm sure that's what they went with (in keeping with 60+ years of tradition).

Apparently there are some that prefer it, but I like it as is. More accurately, I dont mind it.
I had a motorcycle with a reversed pattern like the racer types, and it was no problem jumping back and forth between bikes.

Actually you can easily change them to reverse direction with simple cabling. Some Japanese owners already done it. But it really depends on personal feeling.

Definitely personal feeling. It's like "GP Shift" on motorcycles. MotoGP bikes are generally 1 N 2 3 4 5 6...so some guys do the GP Shift mod and make it the opposite.
But if I ever converted my car or bike, I'd never let anyone else drive or ride it because they might forget and do something to the transmissions...or on a bike lock the rear tire up with a mistaken down shift at high revs.
