Wish I could help I've seen a lot of wheels painting back-yard style and they come out really nice, but I have not ever done this. Try finding a thread with some info on it.

hey use the flat black protective enamel stuff its like 2 or 3 dollars a can and it works great and to the guy who said it looks gay. It does not look that gay to me I will go take a pic right now and show you how it looks on a 240 so you can get an idea of what yours will look like.

haha you got your people mixed up im the one with the painted rims the samix guy doesnt like the color and I didnt sand it down I just cleaned them with simple green and soap and water. and I sprayed them with the tires on I just took the wheel off the car and put it on some cardboard and sprayed each one you can do like 2 or 3 rims with one can so you will only need 2 cans.

USDM parts FTW

I own an RB20 and RB25 and VQ35....trust me local parts are good.

Sides the SR loves to throw rock arms and ruin the fun party. No other nissan really can say the same....

As for the wheels go to a parts store and get good wheel paint. Looks so much better and its more durable. Also caliper dust doesn't stick to your paint as much but that effect is different for every color.

Its like $6 a can but so much better.

and this for those hard to reach places

BUT seriously I'm all for it if you love ugly wheels.

depends how much you want to put into it.

honestly its not worth it.

people pretty much give KAs away.

and yes, stock wheels painted is a lame idea; to each their own.

i only kept mine for when it comes time for antique tags. you need the original equipment for pictures

Rebuild + turbo, you'll come to a bit over the price of a good sr swap. Worth it imo.

Painted SE wheels look not good. To each their own.

Do what you like paint your rims but do it right and for sure build the KA24DE i have a FWD and RWD SR20 and i made one mistake and blew rocker arms both cars s*** sucks so i am in the process of building a KA for my S13 and i will keep the SR in the NX but no more turbo though i really like the NX N/A it sounds good....

I'm doing my wheels today. Sand blasting them for prep. Cleaning them. Then gunmetal wheel paint from o'reillys.

Also x2 on building the KA.

maybe if you took your head outta your a** for a change, you would realize im not

im not going with an SR

ive never owned one, have no intentions of buying one

im just saying that it would be far easier to find a used KA for 200-400 bucks, put that in instead of spending 1000++++++ on rebuilding one

I couldn't find anything on our site, but here is a decent looking write-up. I could swear when I did this myself I posted pictures, but maybe not

http://carbodywork.blogspot.co....html

Or this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bh8hzwC2TA

Anyway, be sure to clean them really freaking well, sand them down, anything over 400 grit would be fine, and then clean them again. Like soapy water, then use a dust free cloth.

Primer needs to go on first, Dupli-color sells a self-etching primer. Once you have a decent base layer, then your wheel paint (I did mine with dupli-color bronze), then a couple of layers of clear-coat so they won't scratch/rock-chips or just flake off while you are washing them.
