One guy even stripped his so bad he had to weld an extension on to remove it. If you were like me and could remove them with only a breaker bar, you're one of the lucky ones. ;)
oh, I didn't know - I do feel lucky now :gapteeth: heh
I was actually able to remove it with a standard 3/8" socket driver (my palm was a bit tender after doing the rear first). For the front I had to position myself to use my foot to push the socket driver to release the fill plug. The front drain plug, I was able to cheat with a breaker :)
Not sure if it mattered, but I did use an actual square-socket though (11mm, IIRC?)

maybe I should be thanking my mechanic :D haha. He probably did it "right" (ie. with the right and capable tools) the first time, making this 2nd time around change easier.

New shocks installed yesterday, super easy, didnt even have to jack up the truck!! New KYB gas adjust shocks. They are awesome. Only problem now I can really tell how bad my struts are. Nice n' tight on the rear, soft and squishy in the front. I also Chassis saver'd my rear axle.

Finally got around to replacing my evap fuel lines I melted. My exhaust pipe snapped off at the bend a few months ago and i just put it in my garage till I got around to fixing it. When I was inspecting the work the shop did I saw melted plastic under the car near the spare tire. 5$ later no more gas smell or check engine light! Image

My bad worded that awkwardly. It was my fault the lines melted. I didn't get the exhaust fixed right away and the hot exhaust fumes melted lines.

I have the KYB gas adjust shocks too, they are awesome! The stickers started to peel on mine though, so I had to peel them off.

Today I picked up a case of Matic-D and flushed the Transmission from the return line on the Radiator! Pathy shifts so much smoother now!

Finally able to install Zerostart 3200003 600Watts Heater for 1.5" lower radiator hose. Really like more clearance between the heater and the AC Compressor though!

Started hearing a scraping noise from the passenger side front wheel last week.
Took the wheel off this weekend and bent back the backing plate behind the brake rotor.
It's rusting quite badly, and was touching the rotor.
Problem fixed for now. Not sure if I'll ever even replace it though. Seems like a PITA job.

Not much of a To-Do: Researched Suspension Parts, Part No's, and Brands for front suspension and Rear Suspension... Think I have narrowed it down to mostly Moog for lower balljoints, inner/outer tie-rods, stabilizer bushings, stabilizer bar links, and Nissan OEM for rear upper and lower trailing arms.

Replaced fog lights for 3rd or 4th time. Wanted a brighter and whiter light, been using "eurolite" chinese garbage brand off ebay. Went thru the 3 sets I had purchased dirt cheap off ebay. None of them lasted very long. Re-Installed the ORIGINAL foglights. They still work....

WoW been a Meg's fan for awhile. That is a nite and day difference, not familiar with that product but will be getting some.

Also replaced radiator, upper and lower hoses, trans cooler lines, and all the clamps... And trans fluid and antifreeze obviously.

Finally took off those ridiculous "PATHFINDER" roof rack stickers that had been peeling. Looks way better with the two tone look rather than tacky stickers.

Image

Also needed a spare key just for locking/unlocking so I opted for a switchblade conversion, swapped the transponder, and kept the original as my spare. I like it. It combines your key and fob into one unit, relieving keychain clutter.

Also got some Meguiar's and shined up the fading black areas on the truck. Only took one coat to look brand new.

I detailed my car, when I detail I make sure everything is clean. I even clean areas that nobody notices but me.

I had been noticing alot of dirt and other random things beneath my center console when I would lift up the emergency brake. So, I decided to take out my center console and clean all the dirt and grime out.

As you can see it is was pretty dirty.

Afterwards

Image

The trash that you see on the floor came from under the center console.

Another dirty area.

Everything taken apart.

And everything put back together.

Yesterday I took the Pathy on some trails through the snowy woods, up and down hills, and across creeks. I got it nice and muddy. A great way to spend a Sunday with the wife and the baby, as well as wash off that salt!

Just picked up a 00 QX4 on 5/17. Drove a G20 for about 3 years then sold it and got an Accord, then Camry, then Avalon and now the QX4. Needed something with 4WD when I take it off road to get to the land and certain parts of the lake when we go fishing. I've only swapped out the license plate light with LEDs. Ordered a few parts to work on the car this week when I'm off.

Mode Flap Actuator for the ac vent
Air filter
Fuel filter
Cabin filter
Oxygen sensor for b1s2
Spark plugs, cap and rotor
Focal Auditor component speakers
That's it...for now.
Will replace the deck in a couple weeks and possibly add an amp to power the Focals

So yesterday morning I finally got to pick my QX4 up from the dealer. Had the seat belt replaced under warranty. I was happy to get it back. It was pouring that morning so I wasn't able to do anything to the car. Later in the afternoon everything had dried up so I went out and installed the new JVC head unit. Sounds a lot better and happy to have BT in the car again to stream things from my phone. I got the door panels off to get ready to run new speaker wires to the amp that I'll be installing. I don't listen to my music loud but I do enjoy clear, crisp clean sounding music that the amp will provide to the Focals. Next up, spark plugs, dist cap and rotor. I will probably replace the CV axles and brakes in the coming months.

Plasti-dipped the gold emblems on my '99 Qx4 to a matte black.
Additionally, did the front and back bumper in a matte black paint also.

I didn't spend too much time trying to take a nice picture, I'll take some better ones in the sunlight sometime.
