Sapphire Blue was my first choice. And what I bought.

Black interior was a must. No way i would go with tan.

We "sight unseen" originally ordered a Sapphire blue SL with the charcoal interior. A few weeks later we actually saw one in this combination and cancelled the order.

We have a beautiful old '94 Nissan Max with 'Oyster Pearl Metalic' paint, and a beige interior, and an almost as old Buick Park Ave, also with the 2-tone beige inteior.

So the closest we could get to what we liked in the V', was the "white', with beige interior, with just a touch of extra chrome.

"To each his own"

The link to my Versa Album may or may not work, but I might be back with pic.s of the chrome grill mod, the SL logo added on the back Hatch, the chrome door handles, chrome exhast tip, and the Vent Visors installed, next time. Now if I couild just get it to stop being a GAS HOG, I would be happy.

well, at least I tried to fix the link. The image tag is working, but that URL seems to be a broken image.

black was my choice, and that is what I got, unfortunately I ended up getting a CVT instead of a 6spd, but w/e I guess, if I ever get the money I think I will have it converted to a 6spd down the road, but this is what mine looks like. Funny how all the pics posted so far are SL's, and not S's, unless someone put the rims on theirs! BTW why do the Sedans get the S and SL badges, and our hatches don't!!! THAT IS IT IMMA GO TO THE DEALER AND TELL THEM I NEVER GOT MY BADGES LOL I think they will order me some!

TIMEOUT!!! I just noticed that cireecnop1 has SL badges on his! WHERE ARE MINE!????

His SL badge is actually off of an Altima, and was ordered separately... originally, his V did not have an SL badge. Nor has any hatch that I have seen in person.

Clipsed! I think you (We) have every right to be PO'ed by the fact that Nissan didn't put any model badging on ther Versa. Bad Judgement, or more accountants sitting in on production discussion, I don't know, but I am with you on this one. I checked out the price for the Altima badging and the SL letters come with 2.4 and 3.5 engine sizes as well. Here in Canada the local Nissan Parts Guy, wants $21.00 for the Altima letters.

The Murano also has the 2 SL letters for $33.00 I will have to check that out next time I am at the dealership with a tape measure. I think the Murano SL letters are a little bigger...$12.00 bigger?

I purchased my Versa (4 speed Auto S) in black with beige interior, the exact combination I wanted when I was browsing online...

It's just such a classy car with black exterior, nicely dealer tinted windows (a must in florida), and the beige interior.

The compliments I get are great, mostly it's, "You paid... what?!"

I had someone think I paid almost 25 grand for it, heh, I have never been happier with a car.

how can you have an SL without ABS?

maybe it's a different breakdown in the US, but in Canada on the base SL you get the Conv Pkg +ABS Pkg plus the rims and so on.

The Canadians get the ABS standard. In the US it's an option. For a while, you couldn't get an SL with ABS and other options. You could buy the SL with ABS alone or buy the SL with all other options except ABS. It was like the ABS was incompatible with all the other options. No one knows for sure why it was the way it was, but it's been corrected. Now you can get ABS with other options

I was just nissanusa.com and priced out a versa, so I could see how your pkgs are designed...do you really have to pay for floor mats?

For the love of god please don't tell me you guys get mats standard too We have to pay extra for them no matter the trim level. I got the factory mats, but I didn't pay for them. I requested that the dealer give them to me for free along with sill plates (which worked). A factory screw up got me free splash guards also .

I'm seriously concidering getting a Versa as my first new car, and I'm having a hard time deciding on the color. I'm torn between both shades of blue as well as silver. I know most people say silver doesn't show dirt as much, but what do you all think? I noticed a lot of you have black Versas, but I'm really don't want it in black, though it does look nice. For those of you who have it in black or another color that I'm not interested in, what color would you suggest of the three?

I know since my V was Blue Onyx you weren't asking my opinion...and I won't give you a full opinion, but I will say this:

Silver is one of the most common colors. Can't sneeze without your boogers getting all over a silver car.

There was also an automotive/psychological combination survey done about 5 or so years ago, and silver was associated (in the study) with people with bland or no personality.

So what are the results for black, blue and especially red? I have heard that red cars attract the attention of the local police, especially if you're going too fast.

So I have a blueberry (US onyx?) because I didn't like the other blue. It looked similar to the endless mazda 3s lurking around. I've already owned a red car & I didn't want to be accused of driving my kid's car. Black is classy, but too funereal. THe beige interior hides the dog hair, but not the muddy paw prints.

Sorry I was asking for everyone's opinion, I guess I just didn't phrase it right.I find that information about the study to be interesting, makes the blue a bit more appealing. What made you choose the Blue Onyx in general as well as over the other shade of blue?

As I said in previous post, the saphhire blue is so common, or at least the version used by other manufacturers. I also think that the brighter blue will become overused, and will be a dated colour down the road. I plan to drive my V into the ground, and want it to look classy until that happens. The brighter blue is not a classic automobile colour like the darker blue or the black.

I choose silver because I've had good luck with my truck. I've have small dents all over it and a lot of scratches. Most of them just scratched the clear coat. My truck is used as a work truck when it comes to weekends. I find the color doesn't look as bad as others when you decide to go a few weeks without washing. The scratches that I have are impossible to see unless you're 3 feet from the scratch. Apparently I ran through some white paint once because I have little specs on the rocker panels. Once again, you can't see this unless you're close up. When I wash and shine it, the truck still looks brand new. A person standing 4 feet from the truck wouldn't think it was a 5 year old work truck.

I originally wanted the blue, but everyone had it. It was all you saw in advertising, on the street, everywhere. I struggled to find anyone who had the silver. I looked at my truck and realized how well it held up over the years and decided I was going to jump outside the color box. My wife wants me to eventually paint it brunt orange to show our UT pride (plus she's in Love with the color )

The only other result I remember from that study is that people with black cars have the greatest self-confidence.

I picked Blue Onyx mostly out of process of elimination. White and black are too much maintenance, silver was blah, I don't like fire engine red, and at the time I purchased, I don't think that Nissan had actually produced any Sapphire Blue models. I would have also taken a magnetic gray, but they happened to have the blue onyx with exactly the transmission and equipment package I wanted sitting right there on the lot.

As a matter of hiding dirt and blemishes, I've found that gold or "stone beige" (harvest beige on the V) is the best at hiding that. My gold Saturn didn't look much different before and after a wash that was about, uh, 4 months after the last time I had washed it. The hatch isn't available in that color, though.

I got white because my last car was dark green and really heated up in the summer. It is harder to keep clean, but definitely cooler in warm weather.

I am looking at getting another one and yesterday at the dealership I compared silver and white. It was sunny and about 80 degrees and when I put my hand on the silver hood it was quite warm. I put my hand on the white one and it was absolutely cool! I guess we'll end up with three or four white ones!

(I did originally want the light interior but took the charcoal because it was what they could get last September, and they had to trade with a dealer a couple of hundred miles away at that. Yesterday I compared the two and am really glad I got the charcoal. Looks classier, somehow.)
