67 nova sounds like hard work, my buddy had a 69 it was a fun project.

check out the good ol' VDub see if you can find a corrado I don't particularly care for DSM the only good one is like the early 90's conquest tsi... or theres the ******clipse The real question you should ask yourself is what platform FF FR MR AWD and price range$$$$

Check out the MR2 turbo@6-10K, those are damn fun to drive unless you like to haul people around 2seats and thats it.

also an older Audi S4 or the last gen A4 1.8t,@ 8-13K,a surprising amount of aftermarket... add a 200$ chip and shes putting out like 230 to the wheels, all four! FMIC,Intake, Exhaust, DP, and you have one fast grocery getter!!

lets see then theres the neon....J/k thats not a platform to build on!!!!just shoot yourself if you were thinking about it.

your best bet is to get on autotrader just to check out all the different makes and models happy searching!

i guess i should narrow my search down.

Im looking for a car with good potential. Good reliabilty in stock mode. 240's are great, but damn their like a rarity around here. im looking into a 91 Eclipse, 4400, 83k miles, 5-speed. looks all good, still have to check it out.

I also looked into an 99 altima SE, it had all the options, sunroof, leather, 50k miles. only 10 grand and financed for 4 years i would end up paying around 200 plus insurance a month.

il look into the conquest TSi, theres one round here but dont know if its up for sale.

if you got 10k to spend I'd seriously test drive the audi 97-99... sooo nice german engineering and reliability and you can get it with @ 50k mi for 10k with all the options, leather blah blah blahits only got 160?hp stock but its got a turbo only set at I believe 5-6 psi... they make just about every aftermarket part you could want... serious potential. They come in tiptronic as well as 5sp and auto...check out the europa blue w/ creme interior, oh so fine. I was gonna get one but I blew the money from my teggy(god I hope that 16 year old hasn't wrecked her)oh well maybe next time...

damn im retarded you'll wanna make sure its quattro otherwise its only FWD....as for the eclipse if your gonna get one get the GSX or GST if you wanna be happy, they seem built a little better than the lower end models, My sister had one of the lower models and it gave out at 95,000 she bought it for like 6k with 85,000....maybe thats why I dont trust or recommend DSM.

sorry bout the triple play! but, I am retarded you know.

get a CAVALIER!

Seriously though, they're starting to get a good aftermarket. And thay look very hot when they're suped up(although body kit and rims aren't really my thing). I was gonna get a cavalier, until I discovered the 240sx which seems better imo.

The Corrado is definitely a cool car, and I was actually thinking of buying one before I got my 240SX.

However...

If you read some VW forums, you'll see that although the Corrado guys love their cars, quite a few of them spend a TON of money maintaining the cars. They are definitely not cheap to maintain.

This was enough to scare me off the Corrado, despite the *****in' speed activated spoiler. :D

well i cheked out the 1g eclipse GSX but that **** had a lot shady ****. for one, it had a hundai valve cover...WTF, is this common or what. It looked clean inside, it had seat covers but the oriignal seats were all beat up so i was like...HUH it only has 85K, my moms shadow has better seats and its almost at 200K. The guy wants cash and offers no sort of warranty, no 30 day or anything.

oh yea saw a GSX Galant. the old school ones. 4.4K 130 k miles. dont know on that one.

Audi's. hows the parts on that. will it cost and arm and a leg. also whats up with the insurance?

what are u lookin for??

if your lookin for a sporty car heres my list

mk 3 supra-

probably the most underrated, overlooked japanese sports car there is, fast, and fun to drive stock, with an unbeleivably amount of potentail check out some supra forums , plus it looks very sexy, and its got t-topsmake sure to get the turbo

dsm- fast, awd, ugly as sin (1g), dirt cheap, just make sure to get urself a fsm and a parts car, ur gonna need it

prelude- fast, sexy, relaible, but insurance is a biotch, its fwd but it is real fun to drive, expensive though, and kinda played out

mr-2 - fast, fun, turbo, rwd, what else u need?

celica alltrac - sleeper, sam engine as mr2,(3s gte), awd, rare as hell (which is why i love it)

itr- blast to drive, real fun handles real well, very quick, expensive as hell, high azz insurance

mazda rx-7 turbo 2 - fun fast car, looks hot, kinda rare, terrible gas mielage, rotor engine ( risky business)

z31- turbo, nissan z car, nuff said

nx2000- overlooked fun small compact, has t-tops, can swap fwd sr20det into it, small light, cheap

civic- shut up and listen!!!! ever been in a h22 swapped civic hb try it and then come and whine about civics? just dont rice

sc300/400 , not really a sports car, as its so heavy, but still real cool

acura vigor- i dont know just like em

that's all i can think of now

the G20 is pimp and all but its a lil bit expensive. i mean i know i could get a 10k car but i want to get it as cheap as I can. I could go with the Altima and Turbo the KA and have way more torque than the SR with the same options as the G20. except for the infinti name.

MK3 supra.... arent those heavy as hell?? I know a good amount of power could be acheived from single turbo engine. the interior is fugly though.

How good are the Non vtec ludes??? i saw one but it had a non VTEC H23, 93 which i think are sexy. looks like a good canditate for a turbo ;)

yeah they are like 3200 lbs, and theinterior is nasty.. but picture rolling around in a car that can have 500hp on stock internals, be rwd, plus t-tops is good for mackin!!

the conquest is not a DSM and it was never produced in the 90's. Small mistake though.

DSMs (Eagle talon/mitsubishi eclipse/plymoth laser) are probably the vehicles that are cheapest to make fast.

the Chrysler conquest/mitsubishi starion platform are also good cars but are harder to find than 240s and most have rust problems.

Damn it Yashin why you gotta be making me want a mk3 supra again. I fought the urge to buy one, and now you come on here talkin' bout them. :D Also IMO the NX2000=ugliest nissan ever built. We have 2 chrysler conquests for sale around here both can be had for 3k or less. round 130k on each. I am afraid of electrical problems though.

yeah vw cost an fortune just for maintence. i have had two. i cant believe i forgot about the mk3 supra. just be sure they get a good once over first. my friend traded his crx for a turbo one and spent a lot of money replacing stuff to find out the real problem was n/a injectors that some fool had installed. doh.

so although they are the same company/ platform its not DSM?plymouth/chrysler/eagle/dodge/mitsubishi they all have mitsubishi engines in them....I dunno Im not a DSM guy actually I hate them, in a seriously bad way, actually I just think they are girls cars and any guy driving one looks queer IMO, Kinda like the crappilier and neon and sunfire....I'd take a ford mustang or contour anyday over the eclipse I would'nt go as far as the focus though that thing is complete garbage!!!

so what year was the conquest produced? It looks early 90's, that was just a guess...

MK3 Supra = Bain of my existence. They are PLAGUED by bad head gasket, which is a pain in the *** to replace, head and block deck are usually warped, I even had one head develop unbelievably severe cracks, by this time they've got tons of miles on them, INSANELY heavy, horrible overheating problems aside from the head gasket thing. I dumped tons and tons of money into mine only to keep popping head gaskets (even after an HKS MHG) and having the CT26 crap out on me. Now that I'm a little older and wiser I do want one back, but it's certainly not a task for the faint of heart.

starion/conquest 85-89 i believe. the new the better. older ones have electrical gremlins, but are still fixable.
