Many people call them wheels but i like to call them rims. Now i am having trouble deciding on what i should get instead of the stock rims/wheels. My spending point will be $1000 total. Thank god i have a job to pay for all of this. I am trying to make my 240 vert look brand new and really nice Going to keep it forever.

So anyway people the size of rims doesn't matter to me, they can either be black or silver. If you are wondering what color i painted my 240 vert. It is jade green metallic. So everyone please give me suggestions. Make sure you post the picture of the rims to that would be much appreciated

I wish I had money to blow on things like paint jobs and new wheels...I can't even afford to paint my damn bumper.

Anyways. There's a Convert FAQ Sticky. Read it. Love it.I want aftermarket wheels for my 'vert... What size should I get?zerothread/201915

To be perfectly honest with you, I'd spend that 1k on coilovers or something if you haven't already. The stock seven spokes actually look really nice on their own. But to each his own I suppose. G'luck.

^The sticky, yes.

And if suspension is not done first the wheels won't quite look right.

Wheels are definately a person's personal feelings. I'll just recommend some guidlines:

-15, 16, or 17. I don't like how 18s look on S13s, think they are too big.

-At a very minimium 7 inches wide, up to 9 or 10" (10s in rear only, if you do staggered). Staggered is your choice, I don't do it cause I like to rotate and save tires.

-Offset of +30 or lower (preferably lower, like 0 or +10)

Look around at sportmax wheels on ebay. The 002s that I (and many others) have does work well, but they and other wheels might require fender pulling/rolling.

^^^yeah tell her i need coilovers too . like everyone else said , you might want to do suspension 1st and then get wheels. alot of the guys here that got the wheels first were not happy with the gap they get in the wheelwell after. edit: you can even powdercoat your stock 7 spoke wheels!!!anyone got pics of this????

Those were the wheels i am going to get. I love them! They look so cool! 17ft or inches or whatever. They are about $520 for 4 of them. Also can i still use the tires that i have on my old stock 240 vert wheels?

Ha, not a chance. You need to buy the right size tire to go with the wheels. The stock tires are for a 15" wheel.

The wheels are 17'' and the offset is 40.

Is that bad or good?

17 is the diameter. What is the width (like 7 inches wide, 7.5, 8?)

And +40 is not really good on a 240, that is more like a FWD offset. You would want +30 or lower, a lot of people prefer +10, 0, -10 (in that area).

^Yes, those do look good. in 17x8 +35 would be good for you probably, even though you'll have to do spacers for coilovers probably.

I've been search for 17x9 +20 lately, but apparently stopped making them.

I have them on my vert 17x8 +30 in the front and 17x9+30 in the rear. and my frenid has them on his coupe 17x9 +15 all around but we had to roll his fenders.

+ 20 would be a great offset but like you said they dont make them.

enjukuracing has these rims they look like the 5 zigens. but these have a really good offset. and they have a really good price $159.99 each. i was going to get them but i someone want to trade me the 5 zigens for my work plus cash.

You are talking about 5-lug though.

4-lug 17x8 are +35.

P2M has some "Elite" wheels that are 4-lug 17x9 +15, but gold is the only color left. Cheaper than FNs.

it makes no diffrence if your 4 lug or 5lug my vert is 5 lugs and my buddys coupe if 4 lugs. +35 will make the rim stick to far in and will rub on the coilovers and if you have z32 brakes they wont fit at all.

sure, the higher the offset, the closer to the center of the car the wheel goes.

imagine the car front straight behind or in front...the H is the wheels.

.......OOOO.....OOOOOO____H__H_______

the lower the offset goes....

.......OOOO.....OOOOOO___H____H___

and lower, even to negative numbers...

........OOOO......OOOOOO___H_____H_____

Uber sexy..[IMG][/IMG]

Nice alternative[IMG][/IMG]

Also sweet[IMG][/IMG]

I wouldn't go larger than 17's. Not only for looks, but for ride quality. 18's or larger ride way too harsh IMO.

To the general public, yes. To 240 heads that parrot "you need coilovers" and "your wheels must be uber-flush", no.

The wheels in my sig below are +35 and +38. I'm sure most of the people on here would scream "sunken battleship!", but they look fine.

Why would you not care about your wheel's offsets? You have a RWD car, make the most of it. High offsets are for FWD cars.

But whats the main difference? Does it screw up the steering or what? Idk anything about offsets with wheels.

There is an effect on steering, handling, and component wear. However, the general rule is that if the wheels fit in the wells, the car will drive fine. It's more about appearance than anything.

offsets are important DK102.

Lower offsets is what you want...typically you will see this often on big lip wheels (ex: VIP Cars).

But also consider the following:

You want the right offset that will fit your car. For a stock 240 or a 240 with wide fenders or a 240 with really wide fenders.

Depending upon offset size - you may or may not need spacers to create the following effect:

The basic concept is that you want that wheel to sit like it's just tucked in at the top (with crazy camber - which I love) or just flush.

Now, back on spacers - most people agree that minimalizing the spacer size is best - so really try to get a wheel that has a good offset to begin with. Again, saying a +10 or a 0 may or may not look "perfect" if you have varying fender sizes (you can roll or use "overfenders").

Also keep in mind another thing: The lower the offset, the doper the car the looks...but typically it's hard to fit over a big brake kit. Now, it's not impossible - but just keep that in mind.

Me, personnally, I'm still doing the wheel search thing...although I'd like some badass super deep dish wheels...I'm gonna stick with the lowest offset wheel I can buy that will look great on a set of widebody fenders but will also fit a z32 brake swap...and of course, try not to use any spacers if I don't need to.
