I leave my car all over the place...

I have an alarm and a quiick release steering wheel..quick release bought from SPL and the wheel is Personal

That's all I have... If someone wants your car, they will take it no matter what you have on it..

aside from lowjack

and for that to work, you have to know that your car is stolen.

now they have a real time GPS tracking devise that you can buy and put in your car adn you can track it from the internet or call them up and they will tell you exactly where the car is... ofcourse for a nominal fee!!

my primary form of theft deterent is driving a butt-ugly car and never popping my hood or running my mouth about what I have.

transformers more then meets the eye! my door handles or locks don't work optimus!

I want to try my dumy switch idea. Run 7 switch lines have 3 be dumy have 2 for ignition and 2 for fuel. You have to put them in a certain order up or down and if you don't know the combination you can't start it :P

Switch the switches once a month so no one can memorize it except you

But what happens when you forget the order?

I like the idea of two seperate switches, one for fuel and one for starter. Keep it simple, but not so easy that anyone can figure it out.

I think having one switch for the fuel pump and one switch for the starter would be a great security system. Put one switch under the dash, and one under the seat or something. That'd confuse the hell out of a would be theif

/quote alarm with fuel cut off, starter kill and ignition killpoint me to where I can get one, an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure, specially if it's waiting b4 I get my car /quote

Clifford makes many models of car alarm that disable all three through different means. It is smart and sophisticated. Yes, a determined theif can still steal anything, but then why steal a 240 and not a Ferrari? It usually the grade-school education turds that take the 240's, and if it isn't easy, they just walk away.

Um.. I'm a little bit more skilled then that. All you have to do is splice the lines and install an electrical switch. I hope nobody would pay for a kit to do that

I realize it isn't difficult, but does you toggle flick on and off with all the other kills including your alarm at a range of 50 yards? Is it neatly hidden? Does it allow remote start or timed idle-on after the key is removed and the alarm set? Will it flash your lights in a parking lot making it simple to find (not that I have ever lost my car)?None of those things are critical, but the point I am trying to make is that everybody seems ready to jump right in and blow thousands on performace or looks and then go all cheapskate when it comes to security. Then they come on here and screech and moan about how their $25K modded 240 got stolen. I particularly love the whole removable steering wheel thing. As if they were going to haul it into the mall or bank with them. Rediculous. It isn't security. Call it what it is... a pleasing mod that makes you like your car more, but not a reasonably useable security system.Note that ANYTHING can be bypassed. In the end, they never even need to get IN your car to steal it, just dolley it away.
