Since this is a car forum, *maybe* this might be a little close to home for some of you, but not me:

I must say that I approve of the action, in this particular case. They're lucky their minivan didn't go up in flames.

Should've done more than slashed the tires, imo.
But awesome nonetheless. :D

Someone should just throw hydroclhoric acid in their faces and get it over with. If these people ever found their way into my town I'm 100% positive I'd be starting my day with a trip the plumbing supply store and ending it with an arraignment.

I'd invite them inside for chai tea and smile a lot. They might not know what to do.

Or you could tie them down, force their eyes open and make them read the Learned'd thread.

OMG, make them read the entire Learned'd from beginning to end out loud? That may just be the cruelest thing I've ever heard in my life.

Freedom of speech is not selectively apportioned no matter how vile the message.

If everyone who said something sh*tty or false had to GTFO of America, the only people left would be mutes and mimes.

You're absolutely right, but protesting like that at military funerals is crossing a line in a big way. imho, they deserve more than they got.

IMO, I think it's awesome they were denied service. They should have just called AAA first. Maybe. Probably not in front of the funeral they were protesting at or the AAA driver may have turned around. :chuckle:

Only a matter of time before someone has a clear vantage point and ability to remain hidden post shot.

Hopefully it is a homosexual who makes such an attempt.

It has nothing to do with the message. Well, the message sucks, but I don't give a s*** about that. I will actually defend someone's right to hate on gays or blacks or even America. They can spread this exact same message they do now for all I care. The issue here is their choice of venue. They are selectively attacking funerals, and no, the first amendment does not say they have to be allowed that. Some dumb a** lower court judges may have ruled such, but it doesn't as far as I'm concerned.

I'd just like to remind them, personally and individually, of what REAL Christians did to blasphemers in the Old Testament. :)

Um, there weren't any Christians in the Old Testament. :)

The people who cheer on damaging of personal property (or worse) are no better than the Westboro "church" members.

Not even close. I fail to see how anyone could equate petty vandalism to actively harassing the families of dead soldiers. At its worst it is vigilante justice. When someone finally snaps and kills these dirtbags, and it will happen eventually, I will donate to the legal defense, and organize a parade in their honor, and the honor of every soldier who's families they harassed.

Glad I know where I stand with you.

If that was my son in the flag-draped box, there'd be more than just their tires getting damaged.

Call it civil disobedience. :)

Side note: I hope their request for new plates gets denied. Natural consequences, a**holes. http://www.google.com/search?q=%22550-CUV%22

I can't imagine how the families of these soldiers keep their heads. Someone took a swing at my brother once, I blacked out, I came to with bits of a puka shell necklace embedded in my hand and my wife looking more frightened than I have ever seen. Apparently it took 3 of my friends to stop me. If someone yelled anything offensive at my family at a funeral, I might actually tear a person apart.
