W00000000T!

And I got Advance Wars: Days of Ruin too. Next I'll get the R4DS and make "backups" of games "I legitimately own." Hehehehe.

The R4DS is the best DS related purchase you can ever make, also make sure you play the phoenix wright games since all 4 are now translated.

I have a black DS myself. Just bought Mario Party DS yesterday. Love it!! I can't wait for MP2, as long as it has more boards and ONLINE, which this one sorely needs.

I've oddly been playing mostly GBA games on my DS recently. Mostly Super Robot Taisen and Fire Emblem.

Anyone on here want to get into some Mario Kart WiFi action?

Same here.

Actually, that brings up my one complaint about the system: no legacy GB game support. I want to play my GB games on the DS's superior screen.

I can't get my DS to work online.

I'm using WPA encryption on my router which the DS doesn't support (changing to WEP is not an option due to other devices on the network). I haven't been able to get my Nintendo WiFi adapter to work reliably, either. It works very rarely, and the rest of the time "works" but the DS can never actually connect to it. So no online for me.

I still like the PSP better. The only thing it doesnt have is the game selection, so that's why you buy a bigger memory stick and whore the ROM sites. It was great when I had one for MP3s, movies, and games. I'm just not impressed with most handhelds.

The PSP sucked. The only reason why I enjoyed mine was that I could "backup copies of games I own"() even for free, the only game worth my time downloading was Killzone and that game was overly frekkin difficult.

I actually don't have Mario Kart. My R4DS came in the other day and I downloaded Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Pretty fun so far. I can't say I'm sold on not being able to use the D pad or any buttons for controls though... Everything is touch screen :-(

Wow! I used to have an old DS, back when the game selection wasnt so great. Traded it in to get a PSP and love the PSP. Although, I think i may need to get another DS seeing's that there is a way to play your "backup" copies that "you own" now. They didn't have this nice little gizmo when I had my DS. But they do now. DS here i come... in a while from now.

Phantom hourglass was a mixed bag for me. It was sort of a Zelda game, but it really wasn't. The Music and art were Zelda. But the gameplay could have worn any name. The touch screen controls were definitely unnecessary and got in the way at times, but they were nowhere near as bad as I feared they'd be. Still, at least an option for gimmick-free gameplay would have been nice. I mean...yeah it was a good idea in early development when the DS was new and touch screen games were fresh. But Phantom Hourglass was a few years late for that party. They should have ditched the touch screen altogether.

But the thing that really killed it as a Zelda game for me was the lack of Zelda content. No heart containers/pieces of heart to hunt down. No optional collection side quests except the very minimal treasure hunting.Zelda games should have more than combat and dungeons. And even the dungeons got the short straw. You start out with every dungeon map, there's no compass, and the major dungeon is revisited umpteen times until you could do it in your sleep and indeed would probably prefer to be asleep through it.

The music and art design were excellent, though. But I can get those with Windwaker, which is a real Zelda game with real Zelda content. It just doesn't fit in my pocket. Pretty disappointing that the portable Zelda built on the most powerful system had the least content. The old green-and-white Gameboy Link's Awakening was a vastly superior game. Maybe Nintendo should have put time into making the game rather than screwing around with touch screen controls that no one but themselves want to have to use.

And on the subject of DS dungeon-crawlers:Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates is a lot of fun. It lacks a few of the iconic traits of it's Gamecube progenitor, but it makes up for them by adding new stuff and getting rid of the blasted Miasma.

I dunno about CC. I generally hate 3D games on D Pad equipped hand held. Especially ARPGs on such a layout. Having everything diagonal and oriented that way annoys me and in cars nauseates me.

My oldest kid has the gold Zelda edition DS Lite. Phantom Hourglass seems pretty neat, but the control system does get a little tiring after a while. I might have go grab that R4DS and try out some games when 'lil man' is on 'punishment' and I have to 'confiscate' his device.

How did you already break it? Just try to return it. While you're out you can pick up more Maxipads and Midol.

This post brought to you by Newcastle Pub Ale, its damn good beer.

No, more like "too bad this thread is 13 months old."

Also, the DSi won't have a GBA port, so it'll be worth hanging on to your DS Lite.

LOL PWNED. While we are on the subject though... I LOVE THE PHANTOM HOURGLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've NEVER had so much fun on a hand held. The only thing that came close was Ren & Stimpy for the Original Gameboy.

I seem to be the only person who didn't like Phantom Hourglass. It was a sorry-a** excuse for a Zelda game and the touch screen controls added nothing of value. Extremely light on content, most of what it did have was fun, but it felt like I was playing 1/5th of a zelda game instead of a whole Zelda game. The story and people in it were good, but it just felt lacking all around. Diet Zelda. Link's Awakening (the original handheld Zelda) was just as grand-scaled as it's full-size console brethren. Pretty sad when a DS game lacks in scale and content compared to a classic game boy game.

Speaking of the DSi:When I preordered my DS at gamestop (which I only did out of fear that the DSi would be Wii-like in it's obtainability) they asked me if I wanted to buy a product replacement plan. I just looked at the doofus and said "Why? It's a NINTENDO product. " Not just any Nintendo product, but a 100% solid-state Nintendo product. What is there to go wrong?

It's like those 100 calorie packs of Zelda. I've never been a Zelda fan for the most part and I've never finished any of the games so I kinda view it like getting my cherry popped. It's like starting out with sub average joe instead of a pornstar lol. Bad analogy. It's late and I'm tired haha.

The only Zelda game I have finished is the Ocarina of Time! I do have other Zelda games for some reason I don't want to finish them.

I want my old threads to come back from the dead. It's cool that the new guy actually looked beyond the first page.
