Locally produced in Decherd, TN for useage in the Smyrna, TN plant. The MR is produced in Japan I believe.

The strong yen is pushing Nissan to localize as much production to this country as possible. Good for the US economy, bad for enthusiasts when we get stuck with the QR ha.

I have an 09 Suzuki Equator with the qr25, and it's been a oil consuming pos since it hit 100 miles. Every 5000 miles, you can wring about a cup of oil out of the air filter. I have taken it to the stealership at least a dozen times, and all they will do is replace the filter and top of the oil. The belt also has to be replaced about every 10,000 miles because it starts squealing so bad you can hear it from 1/4 mile away. Just like with the air filter, they change the belt under warranty but won't fix the cause, which is the ac compressor clutch being extremely hard to turn even with the ac off. Thank god the truck has a 7 yr/100,000 mile warranty. And as for power, there is no way it actually pits out 152hp, it is the most gutless vehicle I've ever driven. It will barely pull my 5ft x 10ft trailer with my 250cc 4wheeler.normal driving I get 16-17mpg. With the trailer and 4wheeler hooked up, I'm lucky to get 14 mpg, and the transmission slips on the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts. Has done that since the day I bought it with .02 miles on it. The stealership won't fix that either, keep telling me that they can't duplicate the problem. There are a few other issues, like the fact the abs has never worked on the front left, and the caliper clangs, but that's nothing to do with the junk qr25de.
