Gotta work half a day Saturday.Sunday is open though.
You can use my garage to store the car if need be.

I'm also good for sunday, and you can keep the car over here for a few days if you'd like (heck, I'd love that!)

If you have to go on Saturday, let me know because I might be able to make it depending on a few variables out here.

I'll be happy to store any of your cars for you Papa, just don't pay attention to the odometer oh and you have to get them to Phoenix.

Can't wait to see how the car looks now when you get it back and post the epic project240sx comes home thread. :dblthumb:

Getting this car for 6k is like buying Apple at IPO :mike

haha thanks man.

The only reason I'm hesitant is because I really don't need the car. I already have 2 turbo play cars and am about to get a G37 for a month while a friend of mine is in Japan. My garage will be dirty as all hell while I'm doing my 240 truck conversion too. This new 240 would be a perma garage resident as it has no roof.

In addition to all that, being able to sell the car might take a while too. Not many people around here have 7+ grand laying around for something they don't need, and it would be damn near impossible for someone to get a car loan for it.

I also can't seem to buy cars that aren't freaking black.

Check the couch :couch

Hard to finance because of the miles? If your credit score is high enough I thought most banks will loan KBB on 100k + miles. For the most part I have been very careful with my credit and normally can get what I want loan wise, also my LTI ratio is low. 84 months at 3% interest with zero down is out there.

Would you sell one of your other cars if you bought it? seems like pretty much the absolute BEST 240SX in the world right + Hitman will be your BFF for LIFE and you can't put a price on that.

Well that's the problem. This car doesn't really apply to KBB because its so modified.

Eventually I'll ditch my '91, but I need to swap the engine, trans, rear diff, and seats over to my 93 first. I really should get on that.

Just got off the phone with the guy.
Evidently he runs a pawn shop and that's where the car is for sale. It no longer has the airbag suspension on it, and he doesn't know what it has under it now... nor does he know what type of wheels are on it. It still doesn't have a top or any glass other than the windshield.

He says he's getting tons of calls on it, but no one has paid any deposit or anything yet. I'll probably check back with him Saturday if I'm still available to look at it on Sunday. He's got some church thing though, so he's sort of limited for time on Sunday to look at it :(

SO its a rescue. I'll chip in $20 to give a good car a home...

Seriously what if Nico members put in a set amount and it rotated from state to state as a sort of timeshare?

The guy that bought it from us removed it but I'm not sure what he did after that.

If 60 of us chip in $100 or 12 of us chip in $500 or 6 of us chip in $1000 we have the car? (can you tell I'm a salesman?)

This reminds me of that episode of the simpsons where homer buys Snakes car (little bandit) at a police auction and ruins it until Snake breaks out of jail to rescue his car. Its exactly the same situation.

fix my link mods...(you know in the Jaguar club blah blah blah)

The only thing really worth any money is the motor. Without the airbag system you could probably get him down closer to 4k.

It's sentimental and all...but at this point James, Vette > Vert.

If you're serious about it, I can do that.

I also just got hit with some other bad news- I have to work night shift next week, which means I have to be at work at 8pm on Sunday. Doesn't leave a whole lot of room for driving 10 hours that day. I'll call the guy back tomorrow to see if anyone had bought it yet.

Disgusting. No respect whatsoever.

I wish a lifetime of untraceable engine codes and catastrophic tire failures on the person responsible.

Sounds reasonable. Its like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Except, you know, not gay.

If it works out and the car isn't a piece I'd like May-June-July.

Probably should come with a condition that the rotating owner(s) must have a garage.

See what you did Greg, you let it go, and it was raped. You brought it on yourself lol. If it was alittle closer to the east coast...

Krash, buy it, get the original azhitman wheels on it again, preserve it for sentimental Nico value.

IF I had the money I'd totally buy it. That car even holds sentimental value for me! I found NICO because of the convertible forums and Greg's car was always a nice inspiration to see on the portal page.

I don't think I've reached the point in my life yet where I'm willing to blow big money for sentimental reasons... at least on a car anyway.

If I bought it, it would be because it would be worth it without the sentimental aspect. Unfortunately I got hit with night shift this week and couldn't make it happen. I also have road trips for the next 2 weekends :(

If Ben and Krash want to go check it out and tell me the shape its in, I could potentially proxy buy it though. Food for thought.

Stop being a puss and get it!

I wanted to buy this thing so bad when Greg had it up for sale, but it's just hard to let go of that kind of cash for a car, even one like this. Even if I could swing it, I don't think I could even talk myself into it, much less the wife because even I know it's a really risky bet and probably won't be easy to resale if needed.

I still want it though.

Don't get me wrong, I want it, and I can swing it, and I don't have to answer to anyone except myself.

I just fear I'll find it awesome for like a day, then it'll be neglected haha.

If I lived in Arizona and I knew it wasn't going to rain out, I'd be much more inclined to get it, but driving that thing anywhere with Mississippi's "who the f*** knows what is going to happen" weather is risky.

If it had a top, I'd be all over it.
