I'm also planning to drop an rb into my hatch. I'll be checking in to see how your progress is going and post build. GL dude

Thanks buddy!

Was in the 70's yesterday, beautiful weather and now it's freezing cold. Will slow down the build this week. Hopefully take the head of later this week!

Another update! Got the head off, which is a dream on the RB since you don't have to take off the cams or anything! Took about 20 minutes. Turned the engine upside down, took the oil pan off, crank girdle, water pump, and pistons out. Bearings still looked in damn good condition along with the piston rings. We got stumped at the oil pump part. That sprocket is hard as s*** to take off! So we did some research and my friend who is helping me with all this found this forum where this dude filed down some bolts and used a harmonic balancer puller to take it off. He filed down some old honda head bolts, all we need is the puller. Since it was late and all places were closed. I took some miscellaneous stuff off. How do you take off the oil dip stick? And if anyone else has a easier way of getting that sprocket out let me know! Here are some pictures!

Till next time!

Looks like its moving along nicely. Are you going to build the motor right off the bat, or are you just doing a fresh rebuild?

Haha. Ok just wondering. I don't like it when people just start throwing mods on an engine they've never touched before. They should get to know it first. Buy it dinner, before touching it in awkward places (JK)

just grabbed it with some vice grips carefully and twisted it free i think

or you can try to tap it out from underneath since your motor is all apart
