Jesus stick is not stronger. Every welder that knwos there stuff knows TIG is the strongest. Why else would it be an autmotive industry standard?

The slag and such from arc welding contaminates the weld, while the gas from MIG and TIG shields the metal... thats why they are called SHIELDING gases.

Lets quite bickering...all welding from Arc to Tig can be done with a minimum of a 70,000 lb pressure rating. Having a 90,000 to 100,000 pressure rating is pointless for a exhaust mani or exhaust tubing. It becomes complete overkill. So in the end it comes down to cash flow and ease of maintenance. For me its mig. I can weld 25 things with mig to your 1 item that is Tig welded. Granted, the tig is a beautiful weld, but its slow and expensive.

stick might not look as pretty, but they are extremely strong and live-up to it, why in the world would they use stick welding to join steel frames (structures) of buildings and bridges, then! if it's not strong ?

Gas welding over mig? Ha! I know every type of welding process has its own purpose but gas is Gorilla tactics. I cant say which weld is the strongest cuz they all have to meet standards for safety but for a manifold tig would be the best, and mig would be the SMARTEST. You dont see 1inch plate tig welded though either. Me personally, I have a TIG welder and take quality in my art, so that mani would be SS and Tig welded all the way! Its all about the $$$!
