I have a weird symbol or pixelation issues near my parking/driving symbol on the dash. It looks like half a snow flake. Anyone know how I can upload a photo?

Is it there permanently more or less? If so, it is probably dead pixels ... sometimes happens when liquid (such as Windex) gets in there. But the above is in an unusual location ... hmmm.

(Sidebar: Never spray any LCD monitor directly with Windex - use liquid designed for such screens, or spray the micro-fiber cloth and use it to wipe down the screen, or use pre-moistened lens cleaner material.)

No windex or other liquids used. Strictly a dry microfiber cloth. I'm just as baffled.

If permanent, it may just be defective. Or perhaps caused by hitting a bad bump and physical stress on the panel. Perhaps over-tight mounting. It is perplexing ...

When did this happen? A recent occurrence ... or has it always been there?

If the car is still under warranty, I'd take it to the dealer and get it replaced, of course ...

Uh, never mind ... yours is a 2006. Probably well past warranty ... unfortunately.

Hi there, had the same problem with my car a few months ago. It was one of the concerns i brought up when i took my car in to the dealership before my extended warranty expired. the main reason was because my M45 would randomly shut off while driving.... anyway, they determined i needed a new ecu to fix the problem with the car shutting off. replaced the ecu and did not fix the problem...they then did further investigation and found wires melted together that connect from the battery to the engine harness and told me i needed a new harness that would not be covered under the warranty (approx 1500 bucks) Told them to give me the car the way it was (not fixed) then went home, disconnected the battery, separated the melting wires, wrapped the exposed wires with electrical tape and both problems solved. hope this helps and points you in the right direction. GL.
