Did you change your struts or just 'inspect' them?

Don't worry about your LCA's; I doubt they are making that kind of noise. And no, they don't have a bushing like the T/C rods.

Maybe your tie rods.

si, eso es un tie rod :D Damn i havent been to PR in like 7 years now :(

In my lower control arm, the little mount where the hub connect to it, it has a rubber little boot around it. Mine is busted, i dont know if that would cause a clunking noise that you have but i get a clunking noise every once in a while.

Yeah, tie-rod is part of the steering. Mine pop every once and a while. I'm going to replace them with the Tein Tie Rods (and steering arms). THey are only like $150 for the pair.

It's just a thought. What does the dealership have to say about the sound?

Sometimes an improperly seated spring will make that *pop* or *klug* noise under load (heavy braking, potholes). You mentioned replacing the struts recently, might be something to consider also as the origin of the noise.

could also be that the t/c rods arent bolted tightly to the lca. just an idea..mine did that.

well i didn´t change anything yet...but i check the Tie-rods and look fine, the rubber boot looks fine.

i dont think in seated spring because the sound was there before a change the struts, so i eliminated that option., but that was that i think because, that one thing that i didn´t change.

FRONT SWaY BAR END LINKS.. maybe (HOPE SO!!! lol :pface )mine look, a little beat strange to me (i dont really know)but look kind of twisted...

i put a Picture of some sway bushings that i have (not change yet, look not easy).

MAYBE IS THe BUSHINGS:help l

hey boricua i am in PR right now and had the same problem, MEANTIME is the only one that has the problem named. Its the springs. when you changed your shocks the spring has to seat pefectly on the base of the shock which sometimes is impossible to do. my sound went away finally when the sping got used to the base of the shock. its no big deal.

hey where in PR are you? I live in Aguadilla, study in MAyaguez, and work in POnce.

He already said he had the noise before the new struts.

I have the same kluck when braking hard, and sometimes just randomly. My passenger side sway bar endlink has no bushings on it and the bolt is bent. =) I took it to a shop and thats what they said the noise was coming from aswell. Im just going to spring for some ST sway bars.

Yes please do because my friend initially told me it was that by just sitting in the car.

It sounds like that type of noise (as best I can tell from 1000 mi away) could only come from a spring, so either the coil spring or the sway bar (it is a spring).

As mentionned, check that the coil is properly seated and check that the sway bar links aren't worn/damaged. The tie rod or control arm are unlikely sources of that noise.

Also make sure you have the little rubber hose that wraps onto the coil of the spring (compare the L side to the R side). They are there to insulate the noise of the spring hitting itself (I guess it happens!) when it rapidly compresses.
