well hello everyone.i have a few issues with my motor that maybe someone could help me out with.first my whole set up is stock and im still using the same fuel pump that the 240 came with. now i have a rps13 black top that originally came with purple injectors with a yellow dot but because of a problem with the fuel rail i had order a replacement and got a set of purple plug with green dots . I do not have my stock bov recirculated. Now first of all my engine has an idle problem it keeps going up and down and i have notice that my blow off valve lets air off all the time even at idle and when i close it , the idle does not hesitate.now i have black grey smoke i though it was because i blew my turbo but i have just realized that i think its because im running very rich.now i dont know if this is good or not but as of now i connected my blow off valve straigh to one niple in top of the trotle and the waste gate to a niple that was located on the upper intercooler piping , the one that goes on top of the rad.please help me because now i have back fire and im runninng very very rich to the point were my gas millage its prob at 10 miles per gallon if not less and my spark plugs are smoked black .

thank you any help would be very aprediated thank you and plese help this is my daily driver thank you

so im confused..you have an idle problem and then you dont? what do you mean the idle does not hesitate...and also when did the richness and idle problem start happening? right after you installed your injectors? how does the car drive once accelerating? misfiring (i dont mean backfiring) hesitation like its cutting out..or does it accelerate smooth?

well as far as the turbo you should pull off the intake pipe and check the fan for shaft play you should be able to make the call on whether or not there is too much..and back to your original problem..you constantly have bad idle? and does the car accelerate smoothly or not

Alright im having the same problem as him. My problem started just after i redid my swap, i didnt have the problem the first time the motor was in the car but do now.

The idle will start around 1400-1500 rpms then rev up to like 1800 and then kinda stumble and go back down to 1400ish rpms. It just keeps doing that. I noticed that the car idles normally when its hot outside (80+ degress). The car still drives pretty normally (although kinda lags a little between 4000-5000 rpms and then goes) I am also having pretty bad gas mileage myself.

I used to have an iratic idle on my old engine.I would double check the vacuum lines going to the intake manifold. One of mine was loose so I plugged it in and problem solved. Maybe double check the MAS as well, that might be the cause of the smoke if its not reading right.

if you have the stock fuel pump theres a good chance that could be part of you problem most swaps include a walbro 255

stock fuel pump will be ok as long as you dont exceed 7lbs of boost

Your vacuum hose routings sound ok but you didn't mention the fuel pressure regulator, its plugged in right? The BOV either needs to be recirculated or adjusted so it closes at idle. When it blows to the atmosphere the computer believes that escaped air is in the motor and it puts fuel in the motor accordingly.

stock bov does not have a screw or nut to tighten the spring with..in order to tighten the spring you must take a ballpeen hammer and tap the top of the bov and get it pushed in so the spring will tighten up.
