That sucks, maybe stuff from the dealer isn't always just a rip off. I am sorry to hear about your frustrations but I hope that others can learn from this thread and realize the dealers are not just out to separate you from your hard earned money. This does indeed happen sometimes. The money and frustration could have been resolved easily and if the part was purchased from a dealer and found to be inoperative they can usually be returned or exchanged. I'm not trying to salt your wounds just make something useful out of a bad situation.
Oh I was bored this week and snapped a few pics of what all is inside on a throttle motor.
Normal, dirty looking dead unit. Internal TPS failure. This one shows the internal components, once you cut out the rivets. All the electronics are inside the black case, there is both the supply circuit and TPS sensors are sealed into the cover and are not accessible at all. I triedThis one illustrates the other components inside the case. I was a little surprised to see the simplicity of the design I sincerely expected more. There are plastic gears and counter springs and a simple DC reversible polarity motor, that actually has a decent amount of torque.I have added the motor to my collection of electronic randomness as it may be needed somewhere down the road for something else. (I have a large stash of electric motors, sensors, switch and any other type of electronic devices) for just this type of conversation.
Good Luck John, what are you going to do with your stock pile? Are any of the returnable?
