Weird Boost problem...no idea whats happening

So i have a sr20det s13 blacktop, and its boosted to like 15 psi. It boosts up completely, but doesnt kick in. Like i can watch my gauge boost up but the car is just slow as hell and it shouldnt be. Any ideas?

boost leak, too rich, timing retarded, limp mode? do you notice any other symptoms? Like does the car sound differant or does it have odd smells or smoke of any kind.

i am having the same problem! no intercooler leaks at all, did not check timing. but just today, i can not get ANY boost at all. I go WOT and boost stays at 0. i popped the hood and my turbo is sounding like an american muscle car. still no boost. I will go out soon and look around. any ideas?

bad turbo, way too rich, bad seal between manifold and turbo, bad wastegate actuator, bad timing?

it could be a lot of things.

just tore apart the turbo, it is the wastegate actuator. i loosened the mounting plate and pushed the rod in and out and no pressure built up. There should have been something, but nothing. little fan in turbo spins fine. let me know whats going on with yours when you find out

So my timing used to be super advanced, but i set it back to where it should be and this is when i started to notice the problem even more. There are no intercooler leaks. The gauge still goes up to 15psi but there is just no power. what is limp mode?

PROBLEM SOLVED!! turns out it was a hole in my cold pipe from the hole cut through the battery tray. JB Welded that ***** up and threw some rubber around the hole. off i go

did it get really rich when this happened? my car is doin the exact same thing, the afr drops to like 10 when it happens

EDIT: nvm found a boost leak on my hot pipe
