$99.99! HOLY CRAP...the ones I have on mine are the AVS ones and they were cheap cheap cheap on amazon. I think they were like $45 shipped or something, and they are holding strong so far.

I can't say as to any better repair ideas, other than what you already know. Double sided tape sounds like your best option really.

OK, so last year I got a set of OEM vents from a Nissan dealer on eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NISSAN-ROGUE-SI ... 4d0e99e085
They're not Weathertech, but they are the channel type, and have the Nissan logo on them. Anyway, the vent ends are held on with a very narrow strip of two-sided foam tape which has begun to fail.

Can anyone recommend a more permanent solution?
Can't you just replace 3m double tape on the back and call it a day? I've seen a set of those on 2013 rogue on parking lot and can't really say if I really like them. They ARE different from the cheap ones off ebay except of nissan logo on front but it's a same idea of 3m tape. In this case either replace them with something cheap like the ones on ebay or replace them with weathertech. There's not much of choices to solve that problem for ya. I removed my front set once when I was installing led mirror covers but I putted them back with original tape and it holds pretty well. In your case I would just simply replace the tape instead of investing more money to it.

Could I just use some 3m tape?... Well yes, that was my original plan. I was just wondering if there's a pro grade product that would hold up better. I think running the car through the car wash, plus the fact that the contact points are only about 1/4" wide is the problem.

Theres a lot of different stuff that holding better than 3m like jb weld, epoxy glue etc but do you really want to use it? What if it breaks during car wash then youll have a hard time to remove it.
