My buddy drives me over to the shop to pick up my car. I finally had the clutch/flywheel swapped out. So I'm like a school girl with a bad case of the giggles as I leave the parking lot.

My buddy doesn't hate on Nissan's, but he thinks his Cobra is the end all to cool. I'll admit it's nice. One of 1600 made, has the Mystic paint and all. He's done the basic mods, Bassani Headers and exhaust, cold air intake and a chip. So this car moves along pretty well for a land yacht.

Funny how we end up sitting at a light together on the way back to work. He looks over and say, "how convenient is this" so he gives me a few throttle stabs to egg me on...like I need it...I simply flip him the bird.

Light goes green and I limp off the line, new clutch so no dropping it and I'm sitting on 205 Pirrellis (which do well for being 205's) But I get into the boost quick. I'm running slightly advanced timing with 6 psi and not a good tune yet. But the car spins a tad then grabs the road and goes. To this point I haven't been able to get into any boost with this car. I must say I'm in love all over again. She spins crazy when I grab second...but I'm pulling on Mr. Cool Guy already. Third gear is much better on 6 psi and I run him down like a bitc*. He's nothing but a after thought as I grab 4th.

As we get to work he's grinning and shaking his head. He couldn't believe how fast the car was at 6 psi.

I didn't even bring my Celica home tonight. I don't want to drive it ever again. It's staying on base until I can sell it. Sorry for the long story, it's been awhile since I could post about a kill.

I like mustangs, but you're right about the drivers having a little chip on their shoulder. Good kill, and since he is your friend i'm sure you'll have plenty of oppertunities to rub it in his face

Yeah I had a similar experience dude, was even running the same psi. I was trying to get my hot pipe to stay on so I ghetto rigged it and went for a test drive, and this friend of mine from my old car club (3000GT VR-4) asks if he should follow me just in case. I knew I would be fine but I said ok anyways > Go out of the neighborhood onto a divided road, punch it, boosted fine, whip a u-ey, nail it about 10 mph, I could see dude riding my bumper but he wasn't trying to pass me, or so I thought. When we stopped I asked him if he was WOT and he said yeah. I was shocked. Next day he went to the track and ran a 12.5 @ 106 with an incredible hole shot, LOL. Same day my *** kickin KA-T blew up on me, hehe. Anyways good kill, way to educate that V8

are you going to dyno it at 6 psi just so you know about how much power you had to beat him by any chance?

The thing about Fiznat's combo compared to mine is that his is way more expensive. I'll have to max out my stock block at 390 or so, compared to Fiz's 420 or whatever. But I'll still whoop his A$$ in the 1/4 cause he's a no driving momma's boy...

I despise mustangs with a passion. I dont mean to hurt anyones feelings, but the people where I live, who drive 5.0 mustangs (box bodied) are always a pain in the butt. I mean, there always pullin up to me at red lights and revvin up their lil pony and talkin stuff bout imports. They always think their car is Gods gift to the car industry. Its never a camero, trans am, or corvette, its always freakin box bodied stangs. Not to stereo type, but everyone that I know who owns one is a menace to society. 5.0 mustangs are like the plague of the south. It makes me feel great when I hear stories about imports whoopin up on some mustangs.

it was an older model cobra... it had to be, because the 03 cobras are freaking FAST!!!! i've seen what those things are capable of. plus i have never seen a new cobra with mystic paint... only like the late 90's models...

this is not to say that they are not quick cars, but they are definitely nowhere near as quick as the newer (03) cobras...

if you beat an 03 cobra with only 7psi my jaw would hit the floor and i would consult you for everything car related from this point on...

03 cobras really are no joke. I tried to get on one back when i was NA and he happened to be automatic and covertible. It really made no difference; i think i had him for half of first gear (probably to about 20 mph) and it was literally all over from there on. lol.

I do think a KA-T could give the 03 a good run for its money. If the setup had little lag, the cobra could get owned.

It was a 95 Cobra, but I'll race a 03 anytime. You simply can't beat 15 lbs of boost in a 2800lb car.
