WD,

What fuel rail are you using? I want to run RC 750cc hi-impedance injectors but I can't seem to find a fuel rail that uses RC's. They all seem to be for the low-impedance MSD injectors.

TIA,Fulcrum

Let me tell you I won`t finish my project until I can beat an 06 Cobra! I figure for that I need around 350 to 400rwhp. My friend is getting one when they come out and I can`t let him beat me!!

His famous quote " You will never get any torque from that 4 banger turbo"

He will BOW DOWN TO THE BOOST GODS!!

yout friend has obviously not seen the numbers people are putting down with their kat's.... umm the latest from ivan---just shy of 640 hp and 600 ft-lb's.... i'd say that's some serious torque... but i'm sure mustang cobra's will come with that much power and a crazy power to weight ratio like that...

before ford can offer competition they have to build a worthwhile engine. granted they are getting better but i remember the 90's model 4.6 liters with just over 200 hp.... that's just pathetic. if my lawnmower had 8 cylinders it would make more power than that. but i still love the way mustangs sound, regardless of how poorly engineered they are.

just surprise your friend by kicking his butt... but don't do it too much because he'll probably feel bad after spending that kind of money ona car that gets spanked by a "four banger"

After market top feed injectors will fit almost all the rails. I'm using a Aeromotive fuel rail made for a 4.6 Mustang. The injector spacing is just slightly off, but not leaks at 45psi static fuel pressure. You also have to make your own mounts. I just used two adel clamps and 2 spacers, all of which I bought at Ace Hardware.

LOL!

Congrats, WD. Good to hear that beast is on the road. You planning to bring it to NOPI??

Two of my good friends had fox bodies in high school. One of them had a 351 tuned by Dugan Racing. Pretty fast!!

Wow, 390 whp on stock block. I'll have to see this to believe it. Didn't Ivan's 404 rwhp car gradually lose compression as the ring lands got destroyed?

nice

my first kill worth bragging about was a 99 gt with a few simple mods. at the track he beat my 9.10 (210hp) with a 9 flat, but on the way back we hit it from a 40 punch, and I pulled about three car lenghts to 120mph (deserted highway ) It was great. He just bought a 04 cobra, that ****er, and I'm not too far from completing my kit so this summer, its on again...

Cool thanks for the info. BTW why didnt you just take the Metals Tech guys a case of beer and get em to make you some mounts on the CNC machine .

Mustangs are a little on the heavy side but they are still quick as ****. My best Friend's SGT has an '04 Cobra, with CAI, Chip, New SuperCharger Pulley, larger Air-to-Water intercooler, Headers, and Flowmaster American Thunder system, B&M pro-ripper shifter, some weight reduction . runs 470hp at the wheels, dont know tq numbers, runs a 12 flat 1/4 at The Rock.

Interesting I saw a twin Turbo Z run 11 flat! He said his block was stock and he did some upgrades pushing 500rwhp.

Heh, my friends 5.0 is TT'd and 'only' pushes about 940hp to the wheels. Don't think I'd have a chance even if my engine was in...

that's rediculous...

the older 5.0's have freaking potential.... 4.6's i guess could be made fast but ford is just damn dumb for making that switch... now they are coming back with some nicer numbers like the new cobra's with 390 hp (not sure of engine size), and the shelby gt 500 (5.4 liter) is coming out again soon with like 450 hp... but of course these numbers will probably not be what is at the wheels, but still that's some powa!

i've never been into domestics because they just can't win real races... you know the ones that aren't in a straight line...

i'm not sure about the new domestic attempt to steal the import market (focus, srt4, etc), but i'm willing to bet they aren't comparable, especially to a kat, in a straight line or the turns. my friends srt4 isn't what i'd call slow, but it just lacks something... it's a nice car overall but it just lacks something. i dont know what.

Coolness? RWD? Nissan badge? 2 extra doors?

Personally I despise the 4-door sports sedan BS craze that's going on. Bring back something that is forgotten...the sports car. 4 doors never have been, nor will ever be appealing to me. I believe that Nissan made one of the best all around cars (not performance wise) , the 240sx. For me insurance is cheap, lots of potential, very balanced, and i love the S13 hatchback smoothness. I couldn't see myself in any other car.

While we are on the topic of "my friend has a fast car".

My friend has a 526cid blown alcohol V8 in a 1st Gen Camaro, has something around 1700 HP (motor gets dynoed here shortly)

Got 7's

well i also happen to have a friend with a twin turbo'd 5.0 mustang. seems he can only best 11.4 on the 1/4 with street tires.

I also have another friend pushing around 400 whp with an srt 4. seems that those cars' biggest issue is traction. They can make 500whp, but they can't seem to put it to the floor..........

do they handle well at all? i have a lot of stright line whore friends (including the srt4 guy)... i just don't get as much of a thrill out of that, but it's fun on occasion... just not all the time. FREAKING TURN OR SOMETHING!!! it requires a little more skill and hand eye coordination...

...and a lot more dedication. sometimes, out of the blue i'll decide to go hit the strip (the racing one for conversation's sake ). almost anytime of the day theyre open. If i wanted to auto-x/road course/drift, on the other hand, i'd have to wait until the next event comes up, then have wake up at 6am, and go help them setup. i like all kinds, but drag racing is much more convenient.

agreed...

of course road racing is not legal or very safe, but if the best thing you've got in comparison to a good road style racing course is an open country road with twisties, it just has to do...

i hate to say that because i'm not much of an advocate for illegal things like that, because the consequences far outweigh the benefits of some thrills, even if they are great thrills.

lol yeah i wasn't thinking about the other strip.

man i wish they would just start opening tracks up more conveniently... it seems to me that if people were interested in correcting the problem of street racing they would do this... instead they just place negative correctional influences (tickets, fines, jail time, license revocation, etc) in the place of learning and understanding... i mean why don't we just dumb everyone down into walking a straight line and forgetting about learning anything at all... we'll just teach everyone that the only thing to learn is to never question anything and if you do you get a nice fine and possibly a good screwing of your "life"...

sorry to vent like that but i really just despise negative sanctions... they do nothing to improve the quality of people or life... they just punish people and make them look for their outlets in other ways, until those ways are also regulated and sanctioned. it's a rediculous ongoing cycle...

i know race tracks and such cost money to maintain and build etc, but i know for a fact that anything around this area would get major attention if it were open to the public...

there are so many things i could just go on forever but i'll stop because it's just going to take too long and i'll most likely get flamed for a few of the things i have said already.
