sent you a text regarding this, but i'm certain its fine. they'll feel a little loose. but when you install the subframe and torque it down the poly balloons out like a donut and snuggly fills the hole.

i do have an update and the one from last time i never posted, i'll try to post em in a little but its time for a wawa run and lately i've been trying to get caught up with Heroes.

yep those are the headlight covers, and for anyone keeping track i'm, also painting the fenders, hood chuki bumper and bumper extensions. now for my update i supposed its best to pick up where we left off.

well i still havent taken the cold pipe and flange to be tigged but i'm dropping it off today if they're open. in the mean time i've pulled more off of the black car. all i have to do is cut some pieces of the sheet metal out and get someone to pull the 180sx glass, but heres how its sitting

these pics are in reference to idahos13's comment as to why i'm painting the whole car. this shot doesn't show it off too well, but the clear coat is fading off of the hood

and the rear driverside qp will need resprayed when i weld the new piece in

this rocker panel needs a quick patch and will need resprayed as well

the hatch and upper part of the pass rear qp are very faded and have lost most of the clear

til i spray all that plus the front pieces i may as well do the whole car to make sure it matches perfectly. the only panels that are entirely perfect are the doors, pass fender and pass headlight cover.

so to get the front end ready to go on, i prepped and painted the pass fender i got (thanks for that find, hbpignose) and headlight covers.the bottom is a little messed up but it still bolts up fine.

here it is all sanded with 220 grit

i sprayed the headlight covers outside, but wasnt pleased with the finish cuz of the wind and bugs landing in it.

then a few days after the paint work started some parts started coming in, first was my cxracing rad. looks to be decent quality.

the bumper extensions came in too (thanks teknos13)

still waiting on my turbo elbow and hot pipe from p2m, and don't get my started, they're kind of annoying me. i ordered my stuff on the 16th, and 1 week later, on the 23rd i get an email saying its finally being shipped . to make it worse i placed a small order to frsport on sunday and that came in on friday, just a rad cap, but i got a free t shirt! regardless i NEED the hot pipe and elbow to start the car, and that s*** won't be in til the 29th.

in an attempt to perfect my spray painted panels, i commandeered the paint booth once again.they're looking much better now, ask keegan how the finish is looking on the pieces

the fender got primmered....

then painted red

i wasn't 100% pleased with how it sprayed over that larger surface, so i picked up one of those sprayer things that clips on the top of a can of spray paint, and i'm very pleased with the even spray.its hard to tell from the pics, but the finish before and after the sprayer thing is a big difference.

next it was time to start on the bumper and extensions.

i popped out the chuki vents and sprayed them black after cleaning them up.

the fender extensions got prepped and painted, but i only have a pic of them primered.

i took some of the brackets and styrofoam support out along with the lights

bumper sanded

my little sister was giving me a hand and snapped some actions shots of me primering the bumper. I had to spray it outside, since i didn't want an over spray of primer on the red panels that were drying. it was a real pain, since the wind was whipping the paint everywhere.

the hood got a quick sanding...then painti dont bother to primer the panels that were originally red. its hard to tell from the pics, but the hood isn't perfect, i guess i didn't sand enough since its a little cratery but it's still better then the original paint.

a few days ago keegan and tree came over and a little more wiring was done. a relay for the efan and temp sensor was done up by keegan, very cleanly i might add.we also test fitted the rad and rad hoses. hoses needed trimming but in general i'm pleased.

i just need a few distro blocks to properly finish of the battery relocation and wiring, but it's close to done.

going over to work on it a little before work, then hitting the junkyard on sunday.

The cars looking good man, and the painting job looked very clean and professional from the pictures. And also thanks for the close up of the paint I can definately tell the clear coat is pealing so like you said it would be best to paint the whole car so it matches.

the paint looks like it'll hold up fine, but time will tell.

heart of a skyline, you did miss a little, lol but i'll fill you in. i'm not putting the type x aero til i get the car professionally painted, but i'm too much of an elitist to drive around with a pig nose bumper, so i got the chuki bumper for free and the bumper extensions for $25 shipped, so it's a pretty cheap set up.

going to the junkyard to morrow, so we'll see what happens

Yeah mang. The rad is looking good in there. My only advice, lol sorry I always have suggestions:If I was around I would have suggested you use a flexible bumper adhesion promoter just on the front bumper because it flexes to just dust over with before primer, but all in all they look good!

Dude I am quite upset that you're rocking a chuki as a 'daily or beater' bumper!LOL man some of us believe the chuki is the end all sex! Watch ur back mayne.

At least it has one of teh lowest drag coefficients FTwinnn.

i thought about flex additive and decided against it. as long as i'm careful when installing the bumper it'll be fine, the bumper won't really have to flex much after installed, and it doesn't matter cuz the flex dries after a week anyways

idk if i'd call it s***ty. i really like the chuki bumper, just not as much as type x, but yeah thats the game plan. i dont want to put the type x bumper on, cuz then it'll feel incomplete unless i put the valences and skirts on. and those cant' go on yet since that rust needs patched, so i figure until then its easier to rock a chuki bumper. so far the whole setup cost me $25 plus $8 worth of paint for just the bumper and extensions.

yeah i'm gonna watch it, but i went with it after reading reviews of people running them for years with no problems. even if it does crack, it was half the price of a mishimototo

i don't know about this particular brand, but i duplicolored my last car and the paint is still fine
