I like how the guy says "netflix has millions of customers, and you're only hearing about thousands cancelling".

lol

Wait till the rest of the customers get the news.

Idk its not that big of a deal for me. I wouldnt mind the small price increase. After all its unlimited movies. Although I guess you have to give a few days for mailing but I usually stream it anyways. But with that said I do wish that they had alot more of a choice to stream.

Well thanks to the internet, I can watch any and all the movies I want on another website, just not in HD but I dont really care.

I would just like to point out on a above post that Blockbuster charged like $4-6 dollars for a blu-ray disc and like 2-3 dollars for a regular movie, depending on age of the realease.

I can take the price increase too. I'll just buy one less $5 coffee from Starbucks or one less craft brewed beer from my local brewery.

I don't have netflix and I don't waste money on Starbucks. That means I get four more craft beers instead of three due to the price hike! I think that's how drunken economics works...

I'll suck up the price increase, I use my Netflix on a regular, it works great for keeping the gf's nephew entertained, and I've been working my way through all the seasons of Top Gear. I've been considering on downgrading to streaming only, but my dvd que is up to like 40 right now and since new releases don't go to instant for several months I'll just keep the dvd + streaming.

If Microsoft had am unlimited movie rental policy for a nominal fee instead of having to shell out MS point to rent a movie I'd totally do that. Pondering forking out the $7 a month for Hulu Plus.

I'm not sure how I've presented myself here, but I should add that I have enough money to spare in my bank account, this rate increase is not killing me, lol.

Anyways, Netflix's stock dropped 20 bucks since Tuesday. It stabilized a little bit today.

PCWorld.com has a nice summary of Netflix alternatives. There's Amazon Prime (no DVDs by mail, small streaming selection). Blockbuster by Mail (pricier mailed DVDs, no free streaming at all). Hulu Plus (no DVDs at all). Redbox (no streaming, pay by the day). In other words, even at $16, Netflix still gives you more than anyone else. So whether we like it or not, whether we can explain it or not, Netflix has indeed killed the best entertainment deal on the Web. Mr. Swasey has it half right: it's gone from an extreme terrific value - to an average one.

It's still a crap ton cheaper than cable too but at least the f***ing you get from them is gradual.

I don't see why anyone would bother with Netflix DVDs anymore. Their streaming selection is still lagging behind, but by less and less as time goes on. And there are so many Netflix-enabled devices it's hard NOT to have one in your house. I've got five in my bedroom alone, soon to be six. Three of those work through my TV, two more are portable, and one's this PC. Why wait for a DVD when I can watch instantly?

And as for the whole compressed-stream-isn't-HD crap...neither are DVDs. And my attitude toward that is if it's something I really care about seeing in true HD I'll want to OWN the bluray anyway. Most TV series aren't HD in the first place, so there's no loss...and TV shows are most of what I use Netflix for.

I haven't used my cable service (free with my rent or I wouldn't have it at all) even once in MONTHS. Netflix streaming through my PS3 has replaced it.

I'd pay 20 bucks a month if they'd up the instant library.

I'm tired of crap movies.

basically, they need to get the big three premium networks on there that they don't have. I'm looking at you HBO!
