sentient;
yes, i agree with you. The Celica GT can be very responsive. I drove a early/late 90s model---the model with the curved front and not the recent models with the straight front face. It was quite fun to drive.
Another car I loved very much and i beleive if Mazda had kept up with it, could have ben the true competitor to the Nissan GT-R. That car is the Mazda MX-6---really unbeleivable acceleration and unbelievable reliability for a car---a stick shift. I think it had a turbo, and when it kicked in, you were pinned down in the seats. This was a great car.
If Mazda decided to come up with the MX-6 once again, I might give it a look. I flogged a friend's Mazda MX-6 in 1998 and took it up to 1** miles an hour. This car was plenty capable, sturdy, and did not have a single hiccup at those speeds, and it reached that speed quite easily without any struggles. I refuse to belive that the mazda Speed 6 is the same as the MX-6. I may be wrong, but it looks highly unlikely. Then, if it is, then it explains why the Mazda speed 6 is already impressing me.
