its a 600 watt 10' eclipse sw4000

im thinking about kinda modding my amp now. my amp has a bass boost switch, with 3 positions. im thinking about unsoldering that switch from my amp, and running a wire to the front of my car, so that i can control that from inside the car, and not worry about goin into the trunk to change it. then i think imma also put a switch on the amps remote turn on that comes from my stereo.

No need, the bass boost is just a boost at 45 hz usually, so unless you want a high peak around that freq I would keep it all the way down.

Just adjust the gain to where you cant hear any distortion and you are golden.

will the wire be on the inside or outside of the car??

also, its a MUST to use the fuse?? i got one of those 4 gauge wire kits off ebay.
Mine is on the outside of the car. Yes, you must fuse as close to the battery as possible in case of a short.

Caps can be of benefit but it depends. They are not a substitution for a good electrical system. Read up on David Navone and Richard Clarks writing on them. You can also talk to them http://www.audiogroupforum.com/csforum/

General recommendation is 1 farad per kilowatt of amp power.

so.... how do u guys secure ur sub box from sliding around the trunk... i know im not the only one here who makes sharp turns. as for now, i got a jacket wedged under it so it stays in place. but its gettin a lil cold now, so my jacket wont work there any more. im willing to like use bungie cords to hold it to the side of the car if i can/have to.

I use L-brackets, and some 1 inch drywall screws. Then epoxy over so no rust or water get in.
